So how many blue 2x6x1 arches do you have in your collection? ;)
I never bought a set for its bricks but for its design. That's why I haven't bought a single brick since 1992.......

Why do you exclude the great Catapult (6030) and Siege Tower (6061) from 1984?
Here you are right. These sets I had in mind. Don't forget that these sets were on the shelves of the shops many years after 1984 (till 1989 or so).... 8)

Nice little catapult. Kind of hearkens back to the catapults of old. Also the spyrius guy that came in the other part had a great face. Nice looking evil guy. I tend to use him for most of my villians, like him:

Well, ignoring the fact that this came with the Spyrius ship, it was an okay set. Decent soldier (if you like Royal Knights) decent assortment of weapons. Okay catapult (better than most that came after, anyway).

Parts: 8/10 (blue arches, eh)
Playability: 6/10
Figs/Accessories: 7/10
Design (then): 6.5/10
Design (now): 8/10

Overall score: 7.1/10

It's got a nice minifig.....

OK now really a crap set thats cost a fortune now cause it's hard to get. It got 2 pretty rear arches in blue I have to admit but otherwise it's pure crap.

Final grade 5/10

Well just for the record, he had the other spyrious face. http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3626bpx193

But back to the castle part. Nice set. Fair good pieces. Unique because it came with the pack, but nothing really special. I'd give it a, 7/10.

Well, its been up for a while and no one has said anything... I guess I will get things going. This set isnt great, but it certainly isnt one of TLC's worst. You get a decent guy and a siege weapon. I prefer the older siege equipment (being a Crusader fan myself) but for its time this set would serve a child well.

It's alright. I'd give it a seven out of ten, they didn't exactly have blue seige machines in the 1100's...
