Hello, I'm new here.
Hello, I'm new here.
Hi all,
I'm new to CC. I like to build things loosely inspired by "medieval" (which I'll happily run into the 17th century) Islamic architecture, such as Brickistan, which I brought to BrickFair this year. Would love to hear from any builders with similar interests. My flickr is sandy_cash, brickshelf ID is Tanager, and I'm horrible about uploading pics, not that I'm any great shakes at photography anyway. Not sure what else to say, so hi all!

Welcome Sandy!
I'm indeed very impressed with Brickistan. Great work!
I'm sure you'll enjoy Classic-Castle and the type of creations and builders you can find here.
Because we put the "eat" in "creation"

Re: Hello, I'm new here.
Thanks to all for the kind words. I'm still mulling what to build next, probably another Brickistan MOC, but not an extension of the original one I displayed at BrickFair. I think that layout has run its course, and it's time to flesh out the great empire of Brickistan in other directions (thinking of markets, a port, a university, more towers because they're fun to build).Barbrickian wrote:Welcome. Barbrickian, if you check my flickr feed or brickshelf folders, you should find plenty of (mediocre) pics of Brickistan. The Brickshelf folder has some earlier stages of the layout as well as some building interior shots that my flickr does not yet have, since the flickr pics are all from BrickFair 09.

Re: Hello, I'm new here.
Welcome, Sandy! Brickistan is amazing work!
When I saw pics of it from this year's Brickfair, I thought it was a group build that no-one had posted about yet! I was astounded by the amount of work, and the finely tuned detailing.
Can't wait to see more!
