A Recent Convert
Hey there everyone, I'm HeavyWeather.
Better known as Aliencat's wife. ;p
I was at BrickCon '09 and had such a great time that I wanted to join the community and maybe get involved with something here or there ( ). As far as my Lego history goes, it's not all that involved. I built up sets and played a bit with a neighbour kid down the road from me, but I fell out of it sometime after. Since knowing Seb I've been exposed to it, but I didn't really catch on until I came in contact with the community. If anything, all the AFOLs I've met have been absolutely wonderful people that are great to hang around and play with.
I actually have made a MOC, a little park for a display at one of Seb's LUG's conventions, but further not much more. I received a set at BrickCon '09 that I thought was pretty awesome, and I had a lot of fun building it, so I might actually look for more fun sets to build. I also have to make a MOC for Seb sometime, so I'll get thinking on that after traveling and calming down from everything.
So yeah, hi. How's it going?

Re: A Recent Convert
Welcome to the Classic-Castle Forum. I am looking forward to seeing some of your MOCs. I am guessing that your Lego collection is somewhat established , and so there is no real excuse not to start building straight-away.

Hey HW,
Welcome to CC! So, how did you respond when Seb suggested flying half-way around the world to play with LEGO? Glad you enjoyed BrickCon and that it propelled you to get involved with the community. Now we have someone to help keep Seb in line.

I was sceptical at first, but I'm unbelievably glad we did! The convention was great and I just generally enjoyed my time in Seattle overall.Bruce N H wrote:So, how did you respond when Seb suggested flying half-way around the world to play with LEGO? A bit late, but welcome to CC roomie!
Glad to have another member here, espically glad that it's someone I have met in person. Since your husband seems to be lacking his usual greeting, I will try to come up with one, one that he had probably already done.
Welcome to Classic Castle, we put the "Community" in .com!

Yeah I figured it would be a bit weird greeting my wife on a forum when we live in the same houseRobin Hood wrote:Since your husband seems to be lacking his usual greeting
