Oh, and here's the beginnings of the castle layout via TBB's Thanel. Notice the cat at the edge of the photo.

I used to say that LEGO geeks were cooler since we didn't dress up.

Leave it to AC to prove me wrong:

Seconded.

That costume is the bees knees! It's good to see that some CC members have such a keen sense of fashion.

And just to set the record straight, the R. Knight outfit was brought by Bradley (Merlin of Lego), just Seb was the only one who lacked enough inhibition to put it on.

 Hey guys, I like to leave a recap each event I attend, share my experience with various aspects of tthem that leave a real impression on me.

First of all, it was great to meet some many of friends from the Classic Castle group. It was truely humbling having no moc of my own, due to traveling restrictions, and see all the wonderful crations of other builders. It was truely a mind-bending fantastic adventure in the Lego experience.

Day two, was when I finally arrived, friday around 11:30 to Noon, I finally got registered and into the con. When I arrived there was but a few recognizeable faces to me, but the folks I met early on, by myself. BreadMan and Merlin of Lego are most excellent dudes and quicly we all became friends. As the Ambassadors lunch slowly returned to the Con I finally got to see AC, my first ever real life introduction to my longtime CC friend Aliencat. That was fantastic. I am so happy he made the journey and so excited I got to spend an entire weekend with him and his wife Amber, excellent folks. I really admire AC, andI think it's great we finally got Amber around to getting involved with CC. I'm stoked we've converted another person into the lego experience. I also got to meet our very own admin Bluesecrets in person, she had been a longtime friend and I must say though she can be stern, she's one of the sweetest people I've ever known and one of the most knowlegeable AFOL's around. Not to mention that, but she paid for my room and board since she had no other room mates. Which is what made the trip possible for me, in the abysmal state I was in, to even make the trip at all. It was so great to meet them but swiftly it seemed the crew dissapaited as there were so many great builders and influential people in the lego community to meet and get to know.

As the day went on we slowly got the rest of the display completed except for a few minor areas which were to be filled with an epic battle. Bradley the battle coordinator did a fantasic job and after tons of fig posing we finally had a map full of action and adventure. It was extremely satisfying to see the final castle display taking shape. By the end of the day I had made several new friends and had a blast, though unfortunately due to medical problems I had a great deal of difficulty maintatining my energy and ability to focus and organize my thought patterns enough to maintain a fluid conversation. I felt a little out of place surrounded by some of the smartest and most creative builders among the AFOL group and lacking the ability to communicating my thoughts to others.

But it was so fun!!!

Day 2 was great. it was the first public expo. I had been out super insanely late. 6-6:30am x_x. But I managed to make the best I could of my zombie state and focussed on enjoying the Con. I'm sure at that time I had already been bitten my a zombie and was gradually being transformed. But the Moc's were quickly taking shape just exactly on time for the first public expo. And it came, in very big way, I can't recall the exact attendance of the first day, 4800, or somewhere in the vacinity. But it was a massive amount of people and the line itself from what I've heard extended over three Seattle blocks. Which is insane. But so fantasic. Once they poured in we all put on whatever fraction of our A-Game we had and let the show take-over.It was great just watching the other adults and how impressed and excited they seemed. I was blinded by camera's flashing all around me constantly. The look in the childrens eyes, how amazed they were.

Once the public event had completed. Registered AFOLS's were treated to countless festivities. For those who have never been to a con there's usally mutliple portions of the event where they give public discourses geared around various topics, from the Q&A with Steve Witt which was fantasticly informative and still completly rediculously hilarious. Steve Witt is a great guy even though I never got a chance for a one on one with him since he's so very busy. Many of us were quite busy but Steve's role in TLG makes him almost unapproachable sometimes, though it's no fault of his own. Some of other BrickCon hosts had some great things to say and always keept a happy lightweight atmosphere by giving away lego prizes by drawing a name from a hat. Caylin herself was our prize godess this year, vollunteering to be the one to pass out the wealth to those who's names were called.

I met the original brothers of the brick and they were some fully right-on dudes. Easy to converse with and always haveing something cool to say or explain about how TBB is run.

I was overwhelemed. by all of it, but what was even more overwhelming was the public expo and the fantasic and easy to connect with people of CC who contributed or even attended.

Myself, being clueless as to weather or not I'd make didn't have time or transportation to bring anything significant, but I did bring figs and I appreciate everybody letting me throw them into the mix and get them involved in the epic battle orchistrated by Merlin Of Lego (Bradley) that envelouped nearly the entire display. I had fun making a few little scenes and was gratefull to be a part of the fantastic battles.

Me and Sebastion goof off together constantly online and in person, in a situation like that it wasn't as easy to just relax and be ourselves but it was so fantastic to meet one of my greatest friends in the flesh for the very first time. He was often busy and hard to approahed but I know as our new CC ambassador he had a responsability to the rest of the great Lego community surrounding us.

The show. The creations. Some of the greatest work I've ever seen in person. I would post links, but as of now there's not many galleries yet posted. Apparently the line outside the Con extended 3 Seattle blocks. Witch blows my mind completely. But the Expo's were exausting to me.

Day 3 seemed mellow enough at first which was good since I'd had still only a few hours of sleep and was really out of it as a result. Once the Expo set in at least we knew the MOC's were completed enough that the patronage would be impressed. And they were. it was so great to see all the excitement.

After the Con, I wandered around Seattle alone, having missed my bus by only a half hour. Friday night I'd gotten lost in seattle for hours but it didn't compare to walking to the greyhound station. Eventually I made my way back to the Hotel Blue and I stayed at and hung around there, I was stressed and worried It'd cost me another 140$ to get home I was anxious and burned out on being in Seattle and was a little worried if I'd heave to use my credit card, some which I only used for emergancies. In the end my friend I rode up with Richard, former bass player from my band did come to get me and apologized for missing my calls, he was at the Casino and it had been really noisy. I loved the whole fiasco.

Just a few things to say to the awesome CC crew who's company I was lucky enough to enjoy for the weekend.

Josh Loves DOOM. (I have writing, signed.) Josh, I love you too. :)

Aliencat I've always known you're the man so don't be mad at me for not acting supprised when I saw your total awesomeness. I was so happy to see you and wish I'd felt more myself enough to let you know. Meant to get a picture of us together, we being tight homies and all, but I forgot amoung all the chaos. But like you said there will be a next time so I'm looking forward to it. Really hope that because of my illness you didn't get the wrong impression about my adtitude and impressions from the fantastic fun I often just stood there observing. All and all though despide the 5-6 hours sleep total I got all four days, and the wretched curse of being sick. I can't imagine having more fun again with such a great crew of people.

Amber, I'm so glad you got interested, and became a pert of the whole experience it was a pleasure to meet you for the first time and I hope you and AC enjoyed the entire experience as much as I did. Saw you registered at CC, feel free to get to know what it is we all do, aside from what you already know from AC Lego is a great hobby and I think it's really slick you're starting to enjoy it too.

Blue, you're too sweet, I loved meeting you and staying with you was so relaxed and plesant. But boy do I hate those Hampton beds. I like to stick my arms up when I sleep and if I did that I'd be hanging off the bottom of the bed up to the shins. You mention you felt like you kinda let everybody down, well that's how I felt, especially since I was smoking some at the con, something I've quit before and struggle to stay off of, especially when I'm stressed and without my medication. Breadman. IS THE MAN. It was breally fantastic to meet Brenden, he's a most excellent guy and went way out of his way to bring his fantastic MOCing ablilities for us all to be fortunate to witness.

Bradley was the battle mastermind and he coordinated a fantastic battle that spread over the entire display, for the most part. It was quite the sight.

Wow I have more to say, but I'll throw it in later. Love to hear further discussions from other fest-goers, as to their thoughs. For now,

Doom loved everybody and wishes he felt good enough to really let them know how much their friendship has meant to him and how greatfull he was for the opportunity to see everybody.

So that's my long-winded coverage of my personal experience. Please share yours other afols who were involved I'd love to hear your thoughs. Also, I have many more great people to thank and mention, people I've only just met, but it will have to wait till a later date for me to finish my diatribe of all you rascals.

Loved you all. Loved the Con. Waiting for the CC galleries to start rolling in. Keep up the good work BrickCon-ites!

I just want to warn anyone who might view them though...quality is less than fantastic. For whatever reason camera doesn't like taking pictures of BrickCons.

Well I have another addition to this here thread.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wf-_pUrG7fQ

I make no excuse for the quality of the video. It was a quick upload and post, nothing more.

Anyway, this here shows our very own Aliencat as he makes his way through the Con, promoting the Castle layout. Enjoy!
