I was going to interject earlier today, but I totally agree anyway. #1 just looks like an ornate mansion, and while it looks like a nice place to live, the castle-y side of me just likes #2 better simply because it looks...uh...more like a castle!

Again, It's your MOC, but I'd like you more if you used #2. Not that that's any reason to use it...

Oh well.

Definitely the first one! But overall it's what you want to build.

The two are in now way similar. Caldicot is an extremely large castle (now largely in ruins), whereas Stokesay is one of the world's most beautiful manner houses. As for the complexity of the architexture; both are fairly complex if you take into consideration that there are a number of odd angles on each. Neither of the photos you've shown adequately capture how different these two castles actually are. I will say this; if you're planning on building Caldicot you better have a real large stockpile of bricks. It's going to be a massive undertaking!

Personally, I would start with Stokesay. It's a more workable size. If you succeed with that, then move on to the larger Caldicot.

Thanks guys! I'm thinking of going for Stokesay, as the more Norman architecture is really appealing. :D

I'm really debating right now. It's personal opinion between the vote of the masses...

I think the first one, because it has more detail and the second one just looks plain. So go for the first one.

Hmm...
I'm more undecided NOW than I was then!

Both.
