Amazing work! I'll have to check some of the pics out more closely. Great details.

God bless.

This is amazing!! I love the beautiful stained glass window designs! However, My favorite detail has to be the prayer candles inside the church! Great Job!!!

Impressive work here, Shmails! Not only is the dual cross-section a great display layout, but the execution is almost flawless. I do really like the attention to details, such as the shortened pews and the votive candles. But, the best things about this MOC is that there are no lame cliffs, no unnecessary secondary MOCs that are used as other layers (such as a catacomb), and a real appreciation for the thought going into it to match the CCC category.

Bravo! You are a Master Builder contender, to be sure.

Another great MOC Shmails! I also really like all of the details you built into it. The stained glass windows are my favorite part I think and look really great. I think the mini-fig action is a great addition and really rounds it out. You obviously put a lot of thought into the architectural build part of it, but the figures really complement it well.

Thanks everyone! This was a labor of love, I am an Architect by day, and this was the perfect melding of my two passions. I really tried to make it as authentic as I could, which led to multiple rebuilds. I wanted the wall to be taller, but ran out of bricks. Thanks again everyone! :D

Enjoy, I did. Funnily, I had just read about the development of flying buttresses this weekend. One major result of having weight transferred to pillars via buttresses was that windows could be larger without weakening the walls -- so stain-glass windows were able to develop too.

That is true. The other upside was the extra space under the buttress. The first buttresses were open underneath, then someone realized this was wasted space, and used that space, allowing them to get many more people into the cathedral. Thanks again everyone!
