This was about all the inspiration I had gotten for this year. I wanted to build a fantasy castle not based on anything I've ever read, but something that would never have been built due to the location. I took some inspiration from Fallingwater and build the castle right over the river - which turns out to be a uniquely defensible position. I like the rope bridge piece, and built the small tower with a Harry Potter spiral staircase inside specifically as an alternate entrance. I then discovered that there isn't enough room inside the castle to have a garrison or anything, so I called it a wizard's tower instead. Two wizards live here with their apprentice and a servant.
I wanted to make sure that the interior was truly livable, there's a kitchen area with cabinets and counter space, a fireplace for cooking, a bunk bed with a desk underneath, a desk littered with maps and arcane parchments, a full bookcase, and a closet area. A trapdoor in the floor leads to the staircase going to a dock. A dumbwaiter travels from the river to the interior to the roof. A ladder drops from the ceiling to allow roof access.

The 'more pics' gallery may go down when I upload more pics, particularly of the dumbwaiter.
