fox news lego report

Post by timber_wolf899 »

Just a quick note of interest. In a report on foxnews this morning a reporter said that according to TRU lego is one of the 'hot' items this christmas, so much so as to have depleeted their stocks.

Good for lego!

Heh, I was thinking the same thing. I saved a few bucks this year so when the after-Christmas clearance sales hit I can go pick up a few things. Hopefully there will still be a few sets left. :)

A couple of years ago, the day after Christmas (most notably, I think of whatever year the first AT-TE came out), there were lots of Lego sets still on the shelves for clearance. Lately though (and they've run similar stories the past few years) the day after Christmas, the Lego shelves are bare.

TRU shouldn't have any problem keeping their SW battle packs in stock at $16.99 a piece!

God knows why I can't get a freakin' LEGO pirate or castle set now... And so do I... :P I want LEGOs! *Fit* Anger* Violence* The stocks at stores just contain unwanted city sets, with all the SW, pirate, and castle gone. (the SW battle packs aren't sold in KY to my knowledge) Well, I'm happy for LEGO (not for myself, though).

I went by 3 TRU in the last two days.... 0 lego castle and only a few pirate sets I already have.... I have a feeling they sold very good. I asked an employee if they'd get more by the big day and he said they would not and that they literally were looking in their storage for anything they could find lego!

Wow, not in Kentucky? I live in southern Indiana, and have been to Kentucky many times, and the battlepacks are every where here.

It's worth noting why LEGO is so popular this year; in a down economy, folks who need to purchase generally look for the best quality goods to ensure the limited funds that they have are well-spent. Sales of many higher end, durable brands actually increased over this season, and in the toy aisles, that means LEGO!

Combine the consistent high level of quality and durability of the brick with the exciting themes LEGO has been exploring this year, and you've got something parents know will be a hit under the tree. Congrats LEGO!
