The Jarithian War

Post by Napoleon »

Well, I don't want to start too many topics or anything, but I figured this one is a must. :) I have been working on this story since I was 9, so it's (I think) going on six years old now. It is an enormous fictional world, which is getting mapped-out all the time, called Castleland. I know, the name could be better, but I'm keeping it for nostalgic purposes. Anyway, I've devoted a huge amount of my free-time to it, and I try to make it as original as possible. I keep the origin of the planet a secret,(for obvious reasons  ) but in the first part of this grand story, the Germanesque Black Falcon army goes to war against the evil wizard Marrius, who controls the undead hordes. The story progresses until it enters a Napoleonicesque age, and advances to modern, until it reaches the space age. :spin: For the most part though, I've only written the medieval and Napoleonic history.

I have a huge hand-drawn floor map of the world, complete with "Southern Icecaps." The Frozen Frontier of the North is currently unmapped. There is a huge number of countries, some resembling Lego themes more than a lot, though there are many invented civilizations also. The inhabitants have their own measurement system, calender, and religions. There have been wars and revolutions, the king of these conflicts being the Imperial Wars of 110-... Imperial Era. As you can see, there is much unwritten information that I would love to have help from you masters to write.

I'll post some of it tommorow. May Janzarr be with you! :roflol: :roflol:

Re: Castleland Group Story. Intro:

Post by Napoleon »

FROM THE SCROLLS OF KING BENITO X KING OF NORMENDY VOL. 1 ENTRY#1 YEAR#1 CRUSADES ERA JANZARRARY 1ST

And so it is, my bretheren, that we, the Normans, take up arms against the inferior races of Castleland. Next month, I shall rally all our forces to march on the Orclands, on our Holy Mission From God. Yestermorn, we were but a kingdom, tommorow, we will be an empire.

Norman culture is the best. Our people worship a true God, not lions with man heads or birds with fox heads. Our literature is the best. Our technology the best. Our food the best. Our minds the best. Our men the best. Our women the best. Our children the best. Our army the best. We are the best, and all others are cretins ready to be crushed 'neath our heels.

I, with my absolute divine right to rule from our loving God, Janzarr, declare war on every person not 100% of the human race! May Ferr the God of War, be always with us on our march to glory, conquest, and power.

Let it not be said of thou, that ye dissapointed thine ruler, for remember, the God of War is on our side! We shall crush all the non-believers on our road to world-domination.

FROM THE SCROLLS OF KING BENITO X KING OF NORMENDY VOL. 1 ENTRY#2 YEAR 1 C.E. JANZARRARY 5TH
CONCERNING WOLFPACK

The Wolfpack bandits will be the first humans to go. Their treachery toward my dear late father, King Benito IX, will finally be avenged. The scum will be wiped off this planet and sent to the underworld! Right now, they are serving as scouts and spies for our sworn enemy, Morcia. Even though I am busy exterminating the orc swine, I am not too busy to deal with them. My army will cover yon country like a blanket of winter snow, destroying every last Wolfpack member, and then, if that pig, King Mathias, does not accept my terms, I will destroy HIM! I will leave no survivors and accept no surrender! I will march onward to all of his provinces, destroying every one of those idiotic "knights" and their peoples!

The Wolfpack are renegade dogs, not fit for any kingdom, so that is why they live in Morcia's infamous Dark Forrest. But they will not be safe there, no, for I have dispatched a legion of my best Crusaders to invade that miserable field of sticks. My men will kill their king, Charles, and impale him on a spear over my drawbridge, to serve as an example to would-be traitors as my people watch him rot! Ferr will be honored, and my father, avenged.

FROM THE SCROLLS OF KING BENITO X KING OF NORMENDY VOL.1 ENTRY#3 YEAR 1 C.E. JANZARRARY 9TH
VICTORY

My anti-Morcian plans have come full-circle. As I write, my knights are setting the Wolfpack dogs' homes on fire, dragging them out and exterminating them. My power knows no bounds. Also as I write, my soldiers, under Sir Phillipe, are doing battle with Sir Rascus the Green, on the fields of Edmunton. My victory against my fathers enemy is almost complete, and when it is, the world will bow before thine ruler, King Benito X, the Great. My deadly assassins are in almost all governments, I can slay my enemies on a whim.

Janzarr is smiling on me now, and I am confident that my people will rule this world. The Orclands will come next, and my wrath will be even greater towards the non-humans than to the Wolfpack. We shall see who falls after that...we...shall see...

FROM THE SCROLLS OF KING BENITO X KING OF NORMENDY VOL.1 ENTRY#1 YEAR 1 C.E. JANZARRARY 15TH
CONCERNING THE APPALING SWINE IN MY GOVERNMENT

Alas, I have learned that some of my politicians and soldiers are half-elves! It cannot be! I will hunt them down and execute every one of them! I will not have one drop of non-human blood in any of my men. I will show these maggots the way King Benito deals with treachery. I have my men set to destroy an entire town, because the inhabitants' blood is so utterly filthy with non-Normen blood. The town of Savouleonia will be desroyed in cataclismic military takeover. I only have fifteen days until my scheduled invaision of the Orclands. I must purify my forces by then, or risk betrayal by own men. I could just picture yon half-elves charging our side on purpose in a battle.

Robin IX peered through the underbrush. No one was there. Breathing a sigh of relief, he motioned to his five comrades.
"All's clear," he said.
The six men emerged from hiding. They had a good reason for not wanting to be seen. They had been doing a job for the kingdom of Telemar, and everything had gone wrong. Now the Duke of Jarith thinks they are against his kingdom, and you can bet that all relations with Telemar would be ended shortly. If only he could contact the king and tell him what had happened! He would have to wait until the group reached his father's fortress, where he could send a carrier pigeon.

Castleland Group Story

Post by Napoleon »

King Alfred was worried. His son was supposed to have returned by now,"George," the king called.

George the Forestman walked up to his king who was staring out the castle window,"Yes m'lord?"

"Dispatch a group of mounted rangers," commanded Alfred, "I want my son found!"

"Yes, sire! All right men, we ride to find the king's son! Let's not dissapoint our king."Twenty rangers rushed for their horses, mounted them, and thundered out of the castle.
******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

"Your Majesty?" Richard the messenger peered through the gigantic door that led to the Duke of Jarith's throneroom. A Ruratainian guard looked at Richard and motioned with his spear for him to enter.

"This better be good news, Richard! I shan't want to listen to you if you're going to tell me more bad news! And you know what I do to people who I don't want to listen to..." said the scowling Duke,"Those stinking Forestmen have attacked my men who were on a diplomatic mission, and here you are again..."

"Oh, of..of course, Your Majesty...We have had another engagement with the Forestmen...They rescued Robin IX from our men and..."

"WHAT! Beware of your head, my friend! Captain of the Guard! Send out my troops to reclaim our prisoner! I shan't tolerate my prisoners escaping. I want Robin IX hanged from a tree before this day is over, and if you do not re-capture him, both you and Richard here will be hanged in his place!"

"Yes, m'lord," responded the Captain, "So let it be written, so let it be done!"

The group was almost to the castle. They had been travelling for hours, and were now just a few fathoms away.

Suddenly an arrow flew amidst the group, scattering people everywhere. Robin IX dived behind a tree and tried to see thier foes. Their attackers were 100 yards away, and were firing more arrows. From what he could see there was only four of them; an easy kill.

"John! Isabar, Rackvert, everybody back here!"

"What is it sir?" Rackvert asked.

"We're going to loop back around and kill those four men. John and Isabar, you take the right. Me, Rackvert, and Quinn will take the left."

Calius, the Captain of the Guard, watched eagerly behind some foilage as Robin and a few of his men thought they were cornering his archers,"The fool! Isn't he aware that I'm trapping him!" whispered Calius to himself."Yah, Thunder!" he cried to his horse as he charged out of the woods with at least 50 of the Duke's lancers. Robin gasped in surprise as the soldiers galloped out of the dense woods on the sides of the dirt road, "300 doubloons to the man who captures the cowardly robber-bandit first!"

"Huzzah!" cried out the soldiers.

The Forestmen ranger cavalry, under George, now returned to help out Robin; all out battle ensued.

"Fall back!" Robin shouted.

The group began to fly through the forest, trying to reach George and his men before the lancers reached them. George was leading the attack, urging his men on; which was totally un-necassary. George's soldiers were passing him in thier rush to save Robin and his men.

Robin could see that he wouldn't make it. The lancers would overtake them long before they reached George. Suddenly an idea occured to Robin.

"Into the treetops! Quick!" Robin shouted.

His men caught on soon, and before you could wink all six forestmen were nestled amongst the boughs.

"We're not going to make it!" George shouted.

George felt a sinking feeling in his heart. He had known Robin a long time, and now Robin was going to die when he could have saved him.

Out of nowhere a pinecone slammed into George's face.

"Hey George!" Robin said, hopping onto the ground.

"ROBIN!?" screamed George, "What in the name of the Gods are you doing up there?"

"Order your men to get in the trees! Now!" ordered Robin.

"Allright, men! Up in the trees!" commanded George. In three seconds, all the Forestmen were up in the trees.
*******************************************************************

"Haha! That Robin dog ought to have been smarter than that!" grinned Calius. He quickly stopped the charge and dismounted. He reached for his saddlebag and pulled out a bow and arrow, and used a match to light it, " Robin!" he called, "Come out of there or I will start that tree on fire."

"Not so fast, my fine Captain! I'll shoot you...with my bow..."stammered Robin.

"Hahahahahaha!" laughed the Captain, "I see in thine haste to escape my wrath, you left your bow on your little horse! Hahaha. Come out, villain."

"No, I would rather die with my men," responded Robin bravely. Immediately, Robin felt the flames start to envelop the tree. Suddenly, the branch that he and George were on, broke, which sent them tumbling to the ground. He tried to get up, but was immediately smacked in the head and lost consciousness. He and George were strapped to the back of two of the lancers horses. The death cries of the heroic Forestmen soldiers rang thru the forest.

Alfred IV paced back and forth. He did it again and again. The door opened; a red clad head peered into the room.

"What is it, Cornelius?"

"Sir, uh, how do I explain this to you. Your son was overtaken by the Duke of Jorith's lancers. George and his men tried to save him, but..."

"Well, what has become of the boy! Out with it!"

"He and George were captured. They took no other men; they just lit fire to the trees and left."

The king sighed. "That's twice now that he's been captured, and this time it cost the lives of some of our men. Leave me for a while, Cornelius. Please, it's not your company, I just... need to formulate a plan. I'm way to old to be doing this."

'Yes sir," said Cornelius as he left the room.
********
Pain woke Robin.

"Ahh, George. Is that you?"

"Quiet! No talking!" a Ruratanian knight shouted.

Robin could now tell what woke him. He was strapped to the side of a horse, bouncing up and down. It was a most uncomfertable position.

"I hope they sent someone to save us," Robin thought.

"Your Majesty! Your Majesty!" said Richard, bubbling over with joy.

"What is it, fool?" said the Duke exasperatingly, "I trust you have come to beg for your life before the hanging?"

"No, Sire! I have pleasant news."

"Oh, you have already been hanged?"

"Er...no, Sire. Captain Calius has captured Robin. He's now in the dungeon."

"Ah, very good! I suppose you are of no purpose anymore, then?"

"Sire?!"

"Guards! Lock this man in the dungeon!"

"What did I do, Sire?!"

"Nothing...my brother...I am just weary of your nonsense. So I shan't put up with you any longer. Guards. Dungeon. Chop-chop."

Robin leaned against the cool stone of the castle.

"So, what are you in here for?" he asked the man dressed like a messanger.

"I'm in here because of you! I told the duke of your arrival, and he said he didn't need me anymore, so he locked me away in here!" Richard was almost crying now.

"Hey, it's alright. I didn't mean to do this to you. However, if you keep your cool we can get out of here."

"How? The doors are locked?"

"I know that, but I have something that can get us out of here in no time. Don't I George?"

George smiled. "Oh, yeah you do. I had almost forgotten about that."

"Oh, yeah you do. I had almost forgotten about that."

"You have something!" said Richard happily, "What is it?!"

"Calm down," said Robin, "An old blacksmith taught me when I was a boy, that if you look hard enough, you can always find a weak spot in metal doo..."

"Or you can bribe the guard," interupted George.

"Or I can bribe the guard. What a great plan, George!"

"Thanks."

"On second thought, be quiet, I thought of it."

George held his head in frustration, "Just BRIBE the GUARD in the name of Janzarr! I'm starting to get a head-ache"

"Alright, alright. If this doesn't work, we're going to my plan."

It took several minutes, but eventually a guard came in to check on the prisoners.

"Doin' good I see," said the guard.

"Yes," responded Robin. "Are you happy?"

This caught the guard off guard (not a very good guard, then).

"Uhh, ya. I guess so."

"How much does the duke pay you? Not much I bet."

"No; I hardly get enough to put food on the table for me, my wife, and beautiful little girl." The guard began to cry.

"I'm telling you sir, you deserve more than this. That slimy old duke underestimates your talents. However, if you join us, you will be paid well and your poor little girl wouldn't have to go hungry at night."

"You mean, join you guys; just like that?"

"Yep. Desert your post and take up arms with us."

"How will you guys make it out of here?"

"Don't worry; we have a plan."

George whispered into Robin's ear: "Do you have a plan?"

Robin whispered back: "No; but we need to sound convincing."

"What was that you said to your friend?" the guard asked.

"Err, nothing," Robin replied. "Are you going to let us out of here?"

"Oh, yes,: said the guard as he unlocked the door. "My name's Baldwin by the way."

"Pleased to meet you Baldwin," said Robin, shaking hands.

"Alright, Baldy, which way is the armoury?" Robin asked.

"It's up in the next floor."

"Thank you."

"Oh, and one more thing..." said Baldwin.

"Yeah?"

"Don't call me Baldy."

Robin quickly arrived in the armoury, since most of the guards were in the Duke's dining room celebrating their victory. Robin quietly started moving some gunpowder barrels...
