CCCVII Technological Advance: Sir Isaac Newton and the color

Post by Kubikr »

Entry for the CCCVII in the Technological Advance category.

Sir Isaac Newton made a significant contribution to the development of Optics. He opened the decomposition of light into the spectrum due to dispersion by passing through a prism. With the help of triangular glass prisms break white light into seven colors (the spectrum), thus proving its complexity (the phenomenon of dispersion)

Nobody has anything to say about this? I'm surprised. So often forgotten that Newton did other things besides get hit on the head by an apple or inventing calculus, but this is a nice little build and a great topic. I wonder though, was Newton's time less medieval and more Renaissance?

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

Thank you!

I think that Newton was a scientist of Medieval and New time, because he lived in this time boundary.

I believe that would make him more Renaissance, though I'm not sure.

This is a nice MOC. The detailing is absolutely perfect on my opinion. And it's educational, since I never new that Sir Isaac Newton was the one who discovered the color spectrum.
To those who are about to Lego: toss me a few bricks.

This is a very original idea, I think, and nicely done. The color spectrum on the board looks beautiful and the prism is unmistakable. Also nice touch with the apple in the last pic.
