Some Stuff I've Written.

Post by Crushmaster »

Here's a poem I wrote a little while ago. It's not that great, but it didn't take me that long to right it, so...Hope you enjoy. I know it needs work, and it'll receive a lot of editing if I ever do anything with it.
"Come, hero, if you dare,
Enter into the dragon's lair.
His teeth and claws are sharp and his fire hot,
And strength and speed he lacks not.
This bane, in your land, now dwells
And, no longer, are things so well.
He dwells in a mount, Thandor by name,
Treating all attempts to slay him as a game.
He kills, he burns, he destroys and tears down,
With a passion he razes villages to the ground.
Many men have tried to slay this beast,
But each of them have become this monster's feast.
Many knights, mages, warriors, against him come,
But he has killed each and every one of the sum.
Finally, the dragon becomes more bold,
And kidnaps the princess, taking her back to his home.
Anger erupts, and the king's blood turns hot,
Wishing even more for the dragon's flesh to rot.
Still more men try to destroy this scourge,
But, when he comes to fight them, each lost their cour'ge.
Finally, a young man, a mighty warrior not,
Declares he is not afraid of the dragon, nor his flame so hot.
He trusts in Jehovah, the true God, the King of kings,
And only a sword, a shield, and his trust in God does he bring.
When the dragon comes out to fight, he does not flee,
But yells lustily, "For my God and king!"
When the flames shoot forth from the dragon's mouth,
He blocks them with his shield, not afraid even an ounce.
With a mighty yell, his sword does he swing,
And slashes off a part of the dragon's left wing.
The dragon, crying in pain, slashes with his claws,
Hoping, with them, the hero to maul.
Though hurt, the hero uses this to his advantage,
And the dragon, off-guard, he catches.
Again, he swings his mighty sword,
Made mighty through the strength of the Lord.
The dragon's head is severed, and falls on the ground,
Making, upon landing, a very loud sound.
The dragon now vanquished, but his job not yet done,
He praises the Lord, and thanks also His Son.
Stumbling through the lair, the princess he soon finds,
And frees her from the ropes with which she was tied.
All now was well, the dragon was dead,
As Jehovah, his servant, the hero, to victory led.
No glory for him, but all for the Lord,
For He was the one who made mighty his sword."
P.S. - In the event I get to writing fantasy-related stuff, I may edit the title of this topic and use it to post my stories and stuff.
God bless,
Crushmaster.

Great poem! It's hard to make those long ones... I sense another Beowolf here  . Great job; I look forward to seeing more from you in the furure.
Here comes the orator! With his flood of words,
And his drop of reason.

Thanks for the comment. :) Appreciate it. I'm hoping to write a fantasy short story for an (unofficial) short story contest on a forum I'm a member of, so, Lord willing, I'll post that one up here too once I write it.
