'Tooned Minifig Artwork

Post by Lamanda2 »

Hello,

Recently, I made a mark to work on some sort of art project daily, this includes some 'tooned minifig drawings (I've been doing them from some of my older pics, and hopefully will be creating new minifigs and such sooner or later).

So, here's what I've done so far:

Dec 28th, 2009 - "What a Baby"
Dec 29th, 2009 - "Forestfolk Couple"
Dec 30th, 2009 - "Pretty Flowers"
Jan 3rd, 2010 - "Misery"
Jan 6th, 2010 - "Crusader King"

Also, I played around with a couple of the drawings and made some variations of the artwork:

"What a Baby" (Jail Version)
"Forestfolk Couple" (Brown Outfits Version)

-The Whole "LEGO Art" Gallery (Incl. some of my older 'tooned minifigs)-

That's all so far, but like I say, I'm working on stuff daily, so I should be adding more every now and then.

Thanks for looking! :)
~Amanda

This is fantastically done, and I'm so glad that you shared them. They're impressive all around, but what really stood out for me was 'using' the tiara piece for blood in this picture as if you were simply drawing a MOC. Well done, and I hope that 'tooned minifig drawings are a regular part of your project.

My girlfriend regularly follows three or four artists blogs, all of whom try to do (and post) a painting a day. I was wondering if you had similar plans to start a blog chronicling your efforts. So, is that a possibility?

I agree - this picture is so cool :)

They are all very well done - almost as if taken out of a LEGO comic book or something - nothing less than professional level here - thanks for sharing - I'm a fan. :)

Have you ever drawn a Skull Twin (hint, hint)? :tasty:

Thanks everybody! :)

Handar, the blog idea sounds really cool, but at this point in time at least, I don't think I'd be able to do so (I've tried a blog in the past just for general LEGO things, but it's very hard for me to keep up with something like that on a regular basis). I'll definitely keep it in mind, though.

And Gecko.. A drawing of a Skull Twin you say? Hmm.. Ok

Image

I don't have any of the minifigs myself, but fortunately 4 Diamonds let me make the drawing from a photo of his.
PS- I know it isn't Castle, but hey.

Thanks again,

No complaints here... :)

Another very cool creation - I love the head piece - that must have taken a bit of time to draw out. Very nice~

Thank you both! It takes a couple hours for each drawing, the main difficulty with this one was the torso design actually.

Just added today's drawing to the original post, if you want to check it out. :)
