Awesome as always, Jens, thank you. As I type this, there might be a type-o in the Fantasy Castle listing.

Hmmm, a 27% drop in the number of entries this year. Any theories as to why?

I think I also noticed there was less publicity around the CCC than there was last year. As a result, last year lots and lots of new people joined to participate. This year that's less I think, I don't have any exact numbers or statistics to back this up, but I think this is why/how there are less participants this year than there are last year.
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs

Thank you for the stats... I find them most interesting.

I think the decrease in participation has more to do with the lackluster releases of castle stuff this last year. It seems like the whole site took a bit of a breather in 2009. Without the excitement of new castle LEGO sets the community seems to lose a bit of energy.

I for one am looking forward to a bit more excitement and discussion soon. Thanks to everyone that puts in so much effort into the contests. I love looking at all of the MOCs!

Wow!

Neat stuff. I'm both honoured to be included in such a prestigious list as well as ashamed to be listed in the 'one entry' category. As a first time contributor (yay!) had I known of such a list I would have worked that much harder to enter One more :p

while I did have a few entries in the other categories planned/started none of them worked out well enough that I felt comfortable to enter against such fine competitors.

though It does comfort me somewhat that I wasn't the only one that only entered once :D

Good luck all!
Great work everyone.

Cheers,
Simon

Perhaps we didn't publicize as much. I was hoping that article I wrote for BrickJournal would bring in some new people, but I didn't post announcements over all the other major forums this year. Something to keep in mind for next year. Oh well, I'm still completely happy with the turnout this year - even with a slight dip in the total number of entries we continue to see new innovations in building. With no disrespect to winners from previous years, I think that each year we see an increase in skill. Certainly the MOC I won with in CCCI wouldn't even make my top ten list in a category if I entered it this year.

I actually submitted 4 entries, not 3, but considering how much information there is, and the fact that my name made it on your post at all, I can't say I hold it against you.
