Waves?

Post by mystuffiscool »

Okay, so I know I've asked for advice before and it's never come to fruition, but this time it's nearly done, and I'm truly stumped.
A while ago I started making a scene reminiscent of this(http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2356399), same sort of dragon, perched on a pillar of rock, but with a stormy. crashing sea beneath it, bombarding the rocks. I got as far as the dragon and rock before realizing I had no idea how to make some good-lookin' waves. I mean, I can browse on Brickshelf, MOCpages, and Flickr all day, but most pirate or sea-based castle MOCs are set upon relatively calm waters. (The afore-mentioned sites only turn up a limited amount of suitable results anyway.)
So I'm asking you what to do!

(If it helps, I recently obtained over 200 1x2 trans-clear plates from PAB)

Thanks,
Mystuffiscool

They're more like crashing/calm waves then real waves, but here's one vig I made awhile back that features "waves".

God bless.

I'm extremely pleased with the amount of feedback, guys. Thanks!
There are a lot of great examples you came up with, and I may very well use them.

Again, thanks a bunch,

Again, thanks a bunch,
What you now have here are some of the most unconventional ways to do waves that the community has seen. I am not sure what else you are looking for, could you build it to show us? :D

To complete the list: a technique I used, which is not yet listed, is using transblue visors.

Hey,

Just saw this great Fate of Atlantis on MOCpages with a giant tidal wave.
