Re: The Time Twisters Contest
(Does His best Monty Burns impression) Excellent! My brain is already racing, I guess I better get cracking. The best thing about your now annual post-CCC event is how out of the box it is. It really allows us to stretch out creative legs in a very fun way. Thanks!

My bad. That unlimited entries rule could really shake up to be interesting!Bluesecrets wrote:1) No you do not have to own the set. It's AC and Blue's contest, so they may correct me on this, but I do not believe you need to actually own the set you are twisting. If you look at the example AC gives above, he didn't actually use any pieces from the SW set in his castle version.
BTW, this is an awesome contest idea! I'm excited to see what sorts of things people come up with.
One point of clarification, AC and Blue. Can people do more than one entry? I didn't see that above.
2) There is no limitation on the number of entries one can do in the 3 weeks of this contest.

One quistion: Is it allowed to use fantasy in the creation? I mean trolls, Orcs or skellies etc.?

Re: The Time Twisters Contest
Does it have to be historically correct? Or is "medieval with a twist" allowed?
Great contest btw!

Yes fantasy is allowed, I think in the past three years fantasy has become a very prominent part of the Castle theme.Griffon wrote:Is it allowed to use fantasy in the creation? I mean trolls, Orcs or skellies etc.?

Re: The Time Twisters Contest
I obviously can't enter this, but I thought I'd throw it in here as another "sample" entry. It's a dwarven spin on 8960 Thunder Driller.

That's a very cool idea puddleglum, and indeed another good example of what this contest is about.
Too bad you can't enter this one, but I'm sure you can come up with other cool stuff

Re: The Time Twisters Contest
Just want to make sure I understand what you mean by this point - you don't want us to "castlify" a $15 set and then plop it on a 64x64 base with a bunch of landscaping and scenery. (i.e. everything present in our castlification should more or less have an analogy in the original set, and we should try to keep similar proportions and sizes)5. Your entry has to show the set that you're castlifying, and nothing more. No fancy mambo jambo on the side, we want to see the set.
I'm really looking forward to seeing all the entries for this contest, it's got a lot of potential.

Re: The Time Twisters Contest
Nice contest. I'm in. One question though...
Can we mock up one of our entry images a box art for our "Time Twisted" set, or would that count as "fancy mambo jambo"?

Increasingly irritated by the way real-world work impinges on building time...
Re: The Time Twisters Contest
My question are these: Does "castlify" include making it with an Orc/Skeleton theme, or does it have to remain knights/evil knights/etc? Also, if there's a set (Ex. Sonic Phantom) that has huge turbo engines and such, can we make the set have medieval-looking turbo engines even if it's not time-period accurate?
