Just wondering, do the entries have to built from scratch? or can we take an existing set and remodel it to make it castle?

Yes, you have to build the entry from scratch. This is a building contest, not a remodeling contest.

I have loved this set since I got it in 1998, and after reading the rules, I immediatly thought of this set.
