Pitchforks for Minifigures

Post by Count Blacktron »

I feel as though my farmers and peasants are coming up empty handed. We have dark brown carrots turned into torches, we have Farm sets, Medieval Market Villages, peasants, farmers, cows of two kinds, chickens, there are official constructed scythes, forthcoming are pigs (here for some already) and even zombies. Lego even gave us Dr. Frankenstein and his Monster.

But where is the return of the Pitchfork?

Farmers, angry mobs and crazy contraptions cannot be completed without a multitude of LEGO Pitchforks in perhaps dark brown, dark orange, reddish brown, black or even tan.

Please?

Honestly, I'm quite surprised that after all these years, Brickforge hasn't done a more simple pitchfork. They could easily do a two pronged pitchfork.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

I am fortunate enough to own 2 pitchforks. For my other village workers I use brown shovels and a brown lance with a skeleton scythe attached to it.

It's possible that they will soon. Brickforge has really grown to the point where new products (not always new pieces, but new colors for pieces and such) come out fairly often. The most recent batch of new items included a sickle, a clever, and a saw that's much more suited to medieval situations; showing that they are expanding their product range.

I'll suggest this next time I visit. If demand for this grows enough, who knows?

Yes, I would very much like a pitchfork! I'd also like to see a variety of peasants as well (expanding beyond Medieval Market Village) who would be sold with the pitchforks for easy getting. The pitchforks are almost $3.00 (USD) a pop on bricklink. Perhaps a medieval farmer impulse type thing with the pitchfork?

One would think that the new collector minifigure sets would be a great place for a peasant and a pitchfork (old or new design). Please make it happen!

I'm surprised that they haven't re-released them with the farm-based city sets.

Armothe, from brickforge, has stated that the pitchfork is a possibility; though he has to be sure sure it would be worth the effort.
Armothe wrote:The first reason we haven't made one yet is because one already exists

The second reason is when evaluating potential products the preference always lies upon 1) does the piece have multiple uses? 2) is it an army-builder piece? 3) how many people will this piece attract? 4) how well does said piece tie into existing products? Unlike swords, shields & helmets the pitchfork is a product that a castle fans will buy one or two of making it more difficult to anticipate sales.

Yes, a new pitchfork would be very, very cool but it simply has not yet been prioritized on our schedule. We made a sickle - quite arguably a contemporary of the pitchfork - and we are evaluating how well it does to better gauge as to how soon a pitchfork will be made for the angry mobs to carry.

One of the best things to do is to organize a petition which will better demonstrate the demand of such a piece.

If you would like Brickforge to produce a pitchfork, show your support, either here or on the BF forums.

I'll set up a nice list of users who like the idea:

Bungle
Hurricane
Andrewc
Panda
Cancerkitty

Classic Castle members:

I believe I have supported the idea more than once on the BF forums but if it will help add my name to the list too.

Name added. :)

I didn't know the pitchfork idea was ever brought up at BF. Must've been before I joined.

I'd like to see a new version of pitchfork come out. Possibly two or four prong?

Can I sign the petition still or is this only for the three-pronged fork?

This "petition," is simply to rally support for Brickforge to make a pitchfork. Number of prongs may be open for discussion. What number would you prefer. I myself would like a two prong, but four does sound interesting.

Two prongs could be awesome. Fourth I think is a bit much I would just say go for the three
