Not the best battering ram, but still a solid little set, with a fig and some nice accessories.

The minifig is nice but the battering ram...
I think were the designers on LSD?

Nice minifig torso, that minifig head was well used at that time;

Not the best of the black knights sets definitely 6057 Sea Serpent or 1491 Dual Defender were better army builder sets for me.

The ovoid shield with Blue Dragon Pattern is one of my all time favorites.

This sets only strength is the minifig and his accessories.

Nice parts, especially the torso, I like that "iron-shallop-armor" of the black knights.
But the battering ram ain't look strong enough to destroy a heavy door! And the shield on this siegeweapon won't offer any soldier protection against arrows, stones, hot water and pitch. A battering ram needs a arrow-protecting shield with wet leather on it. It would also be clever if there was a meganism which provides the users the possibility to hit the door more than once hit each storm.
So I would give this set an :wink: 6/10

For a battering ram, this would rate pretty low on my scale. However, it still has useful pieces for the price. A very good minifig, plus a tower shield makes the set worth buying, for me at least.

Overall: 6/10

So its just (most likely) A filler.

It's a pretty good set for the value, with $2 for 1 minifigure, as opposed to today's standards of about $5-$6 for 1 wanted minifigure. (i.e. the catapult, with 2 skeletons, and the crossbow attack with 1) It doesn't have a very good design for its period though.

I love the scale mail with black arms. They were my favorite troops. I know I have this set, but I don't remember it being so ugly and useless.

A neat little set, I like the soldier and the set does come with some extra weapons but the battling ram is kind of a joke. The only thing the ram is good for is to hide behind. I give this set a 6/10.
