'Normal' Great Sword and Crown

Post by Username »

I would love it if Lego made the great sword in pearl light & dark bley and the crown in metallic gold/silver or pearl gold. I'd be more apt to use these pieces if they weren't made in chrome.

Anyone else share this sentiment?

IMO the great sword is so out-sized that I never use it for normal soldiers. It's more like Excalibur-reserved for the hero or king. As such it's appropriate to be chrome. That said, though, greater color diversity is always a good thing.

I pretty much agree with that - the great sword was never really "normal" for me - so the chrome fit.

That said, I'd like to have more of the smaller swords in gray~

I think its way to big as well. I mostly use them for decoration or to bulk up treasure in treasure rooms.

There are many other things I'd rather see in new colors that that sword.

So no on the sword (for y'all anyway), but what about the crown?

Sure, the crown in a new colour would be welcome to me. As would and all new crown, maybe something like a circlet?

I can agree with that..! I'd like a new crown design... or at least a new color... chrome would be nice. :)

I'd like a new crown. One that is less like a helmet and more like a circlet.

Yes it comes in brown, but in order to get it in brown to you have spend $100 to get the set it comes in or $5-ish on bricklink  .

Anyway, I would like a new crown, I'm not really for the sword. With the crown, I'd like to see it in chrome silver. :D

Well, the question didn't ask about prices, just if you would like the great sword and crown to come in other colors. The odds are that any new crown would be fairly rare and expensive for a time.

To be fair, the original question did ask if you wanted it in pearl gold or silver, so I'll answer that. It would make little to no difference to me, as it would still be a crown. How many kings do you need? I only need one at any given time and I would prefer for that one to have a chrome crown.

Just my 2 cents,
Josh

You should prepare for when your king has a son, Josh. What kind of kingdom doesn't have a crown for the prince? A silver one would look good next to the gold one of the king, too.

That's a good point, wobnam. We've had quite a few princesses over the years, but, outside of Belville, LEGO hasn't given us a kingdom with a prince since 1979.

Ooooh, ok. :) Anyway,

Definatly. Or maybe a different mould that's not as large as the first crown. Of course, I don't know how that would work... :? Maybe they could have it like the female hair pieces that have a hole in them to inject things. I'm obviously fantasizing here, but oh well. Go silver/chrome crowns!
