Prince of Persia Guard figure in a smaller set!

Post by DerBum »

Please make a smaller set that includes the Guard figure from the Prince of Persia Battle at Alamut set. I really like the helmet and torso design, but the only less expensive way to get the helmet is The Fight for the Dagger at $40, which is too much to spend to get this interesting piece. I dont see the torso design in any of the smaller sets. I know that this is a license line, but there were plenty of Lego created smaller sets in the Star Wars line, even a battle pack would be easy to justify.

I am bummed that the scimitar is only in this set. I'd love to get a lot of those.

Hmmm...I'd really like to see this happen! But I doubt it will happen unfortunately. As far as we've seen, SW, Indiana, Batman, and all licensed themes have never had an impulse ($3.49 (USD) ). Now, of course, that doesn't mean that they couldn't start making one, but usually, impulses usually go hand in hand.
So in order to get a guard one, you'd need a good guy impulse, and there are no general fighters for the PoP line (Or in the movie I think too). Now that doesn't mean that they couldn't throw in Dastan or a main character in, but impulses are generally for army building. Besides, Dastan comes in every single set (So far).
Oh well, sounds cool! (Oh and Fight for the Dagger is $50  )

Well, they don't have impulse buys at $3.50, but we've seen things like Final Duel 1 at $7, Green Goblin at $7, and Catwoman Pursuit at $10. Since each of those has two major characters, it kind of works out to the same thing, just two impulses put together. Perhaps something like that would be possible.

I'd like to see some kind of an army builder for those guys too.

I think we are both wrong... my Lego Catalog says $29.99. Still too much for the helmet though.

That could work!

I will chip in that I would really love to be able to army build that character as well. The helmet is really key to my purposes as I am delighted to be able to finally build a Saracen/Arab army for my medieval castle world. While I am getting all the sets, and especially happy about the tan middle eastern castle, I do need a couple dozen properly equipped warriors to defend it.

Perhaps you could offer a fall/Christmas release of a small $10 POP set with a guard to coincide with the DVD release of the movie?

Lego could use some of the figures from this line to bleed over into the Kingdoms line. I guess Prince of Persia takes place in the 6th century, so real life time lines wouldnt exactly mesh up, but these guys are pretty close to the type of troops who might have faced the crusaders. Even a battle pack like the storm trooper/rebel trooper packs from the Star Wars line would be great.

At the very least, it would be nice for the helmet to make an appearance in the p-a-b section of lego.com

The Persian helm and torso designs are wonderful from this line, but building a soldier core isn't very simple. Perhaps there will be an opportunity to score a soldier vs-style set in the second wave(?) of Persia sets?

While the two guard type torsos are only in Battle of Alamut, the Hatchet Hassansin torso, from Desert Attack ($10.99), would work as a generic soldier torso. Check it out: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb647c01
