Quickblade's latest customs

Post by Quickblade22 »

Haven't posted any creations in a long time, but here is what I have been working on:
Painting a Qui-gon Hair piece. I used Acrylic paint and clear nail polish. Not too bad I think.

Clear face decals. These are nowhere near from perfect, but I am really excited by the potential. I need to cut them better, but this was just a quick test. The yellow eye color will need to be altered for putting them on tan like I think I am wanting to do. I used Hound Knight's orc/troll face decals and added a little alteration to it. The Dwarf faces are from Red Bean and I added pupils since I love the new faces. I also made 5 different eyebrow colors. I have been making many more over the past few days and hope they translate well. They aren't perfect, but the cost was fairly cheap for me. Much better than white stickers trying to match colors. My wife gets credit for setting them up and getting the paper for me :)

Moding pieces with a dremel tool. The crowns show the original in the center, my first try on the left, and my latest one on the right that isn't cut as high as the first and still has the nose guard. The orc/troll mohawk was a fun piece to make. Again, not perfect, but still pretty cool I think. I thought I was gonna cut into my thumb, and needed goggles and a dust mask to protect from the dust particles and toxic fumes. The wizard hood/beard combo was something I had been wanting for quite a while. The result looks very nice I think. Alone, the pieces look horrible....well the beard anyways.

So I've been a busy 'blade'. Hope you enjoyed.

Oh yes, the beard/hood combo is my favorite. It just looks like a natural combo.

On a side note: How hard is it to heat and bend a LEGO piece? I'd really love to have a wizards hat with a more swoopy brim.
Trevor

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

Thanks, more face decals, and one painted piece waiting to be clear coated coming soon.

Thanks. I hadn't planned on selling them, but I could easily be persuaded.

Thanx man. I forgot to mention that besides the obvious BF items, he is wearing a cape by Lamanda, and is posed in a way I learned from her creations. Hard to tell in that pic, but he will have a cameo in the 32 x 32 Moc I am currently building.

Thanks. Here is a link to the separate cut job. Like I said, alone the beard is awful. His cool lil custom decal gets hidden by the awesomeness of the hood/beard combo :tasty: The hood seems to not want to fit on securely, but I took this poor ole wizard and shook him upside down and the hood stayed on, so success :D . My back up plan was to cut the neck piece off the beard completely and fuse it to the hood with super glue. No need though. I am tempted to do more in the future, that's why I ordered a couple beards from PAB. He has a history to him that dates back to 1989 or 90, but I'll catch ya up on those details later. As for the heating and bending of a Lego piece.....well, I tried it with a Harry Potter broom in my quest to make a proper hockey stick and the results were horrible. The toxic fumes were pretty bad and the look was even worse. Ever since LD made the drawing with the droopy Majisto hat, I thought it's be a cool custom.

I would be interested in some cut-down crowns as well.
