I hate to say it but I'm really disappointed in the pink knight issue I though it was isolated so when i got my group of kingdom knight i ended up with 8 pink knights. it makes me nervous to ever go out a buy a large lot of a first edition run. I do have to say all my pink looking ones came from the knight showdown set. regardless I really wish they would have tried harder on quality control, i've been buying lego for over 20 years expecting a certain level of quality and to have this wide spread of a screw up just seems careless. I just figure that the maiden accidently mixed the reds in with the whites when she was washing the tunics :D

:roflol: :roflol: I can get down with that theory. You can be sure that madder dyes aren't what you'd call colour safe.

Alrighty, I got my first quartered Lion knights today. The pink doesn't really bother me a whole lot, until I put a shield in his hand then it really jumps out at me.

Does anyone have the princess yet? Is her printing weak too?

Shouldn't be since she has a white torso and slope skirt with red printing.

"Good news everyone!"

Today I picked up 7948 Outpost Attack and it had no signs of pinkage. There was no mention of any of the elements being made in China on the packaging and the packing date on the box flap was February.

All I can think of is a is a brave adventurer getting cornered in the forest by a gang of these knights who surround his party and (in an appropriate Monty Python voice) proclaim...

I didn't notice a problem with the Princess. She seems to be fine. Just a little concerned about her pink guardians.

Good news indeed, nice to see that Canada is getting the fixed set already. How do you check the date, do you have to open the box to do it?

Thanks, I'm wondering whether LEGO will send you non-pink knights/barding. I'm afraid to buy the bigger sets and getting stuck with pink barding and not having LEGO replace them for me.

Yes, you have to opent the box to see the mfg date. It's printed on the small flap beside the UPC on this particular set but I wouldn't be surprised that it's that way on all boxes.

Well I happened to get two of the Knight's Showdown set that do not have any pinkies.

Steve Witt wrote:Yes it is correct that the white print needs to be double, so that it does not become pink. This issue has been identified back in the beginning of March but apparently some elements slipped through and have been packaged.
Ok, like I said earlier, there is a way to see when your set was made, and my Knight's Showdown read "Marso" which I think is Spanish for March. So that means mine was one that was from before the identification. Now, I'm not sure if this process is 100% correct, but I'm pretty sure it is.

I'll post how to do it sometime.

Does anyone out there have any idea on how long it takes Shop at Home to clear out older inventory? I don't really want any "Pinkies", especially if TLG isn't going to replace the pink knights and pink barding. By-the-way, has anyone figured out if TLG will actually replace these items?
