New MOC and new blog!

Post by Traveler »

After a long period of dormancy with regard to my LEGO, um, habit, I've emerged with a new MOC and a new Castle LEGO Blog as well. Due to various recession-related issues ( :( ), I find myself with lots of free time these days, so I thought this might be a good way to use some of that time.

Here are some thumbs:

And here's a link to the new blog. I hope to feature MOCs from other builders, along with some information about the creations and builders, as well as keep people abreast of developments in Castle LEGO, and my opinions on said developments (because everyone wants those!)

So, look at that MOC, and follow that blog, and we'll see you next time!

I like the bridge between the two towers. Nice work.

Great! I checked out your blog, and I'm excited about it. I like checking out the LEGO blogs, and castle is probably my favorite theme, and none of the blogs I've found focus exclusively on that. I look forward to reading it. :-)

Hey Dan,

I'm really looking forward to the development of your blog. I'm pretty much on record as preferring niche blogs as opposed to just 'all things LEGO'. As much as I appreciate the BB, and we all read them, multiple other blogs in the same vein are really superfluous. On the other hand, blogs focused on specific themes or aspects of the hobby can have a real focus and get more in depth.

The MOC is also really nice.

I checked out your blog and I also liked it. Cool MOC, too. I like the tudor-style house combined with the tower. Nice job!

I'm officially the first follower of your blog so keep regular updates coming my way. I like your MOC btw. I think the detail of the man in the tricorner hat carrying pumpkins is fantastic.

Thanks everyone! The reason I started the blog was that there weren't any niche LEGO Castle Blogs that I was aware of, and I feel relatively capable of filling that need.

Hey Dan,

One quick suggestion. In your Brickshelf gallery you should also include the url for your blog. You can't really do this in the description of the gallery as you can't use slashes and maybe periods, but just photoshop the url into an image like this one. I actually saw the Brickshelf gallery before your announcement post above, and I just guessed at the url being a blogspot site, but it would be helpful to others who aren't members of cc.

Also, you should probably open a free account on Flickr and post announcements in a few of the relevant LEGO groups (e.g. classic-castle and LEGO microcastle) - While a lot of the people on those read this forum, not all do. Also Flickr might get a few more random readers who would then find your blog.

Nice start to your Blog, especially one dedicated to LEGO Castle. I am also in the grip of ression related issues with more free time but not enough money to make good use of it. :(

I look forward to updates; are you going to continue with more MOCs with the Captain or switch the focus?

Way cool! i was actually planning to build a lighthouse using the the same classic double-tower-connected-by-bridge technique.

And so he slipped into the forest, vanishing without a trace, leaving his pursuers lost without ideas, while he went to finish his MOC's.
