It is relevant information, although I'm not sure that it is possible to order more than the 16. It says limited to household, which a few people are taking as your address. I was asked to log into my account twice when I ordered these 16, which are gifts this time. Just be aware that you may not be able to get more than 16.

Jeez, if that's the case I think going back to a limit of five per purchase may not be as hated an idea as it was a couple of months ago. I hope TLG is finally learning that even though these are collectible figs and have limited runs, there are people out there who would like to collect thousands of certain figs. I hope this series of figs is being used as a focus group and they will indeed put a Ancient Greek/Roman theme to the test. I'm pretty sure they could use this as a way to supplement the current lines too. A new alien for the space Police to chase that they don't have to develop an entire set around or a new knight that could have a different type of heraldry that wouldn't fit in the Kingdoms sets but would be most welcome.

Also, please TLG....NO MORE FIVES!! Some threes but mostly fours in the box would be most excellent.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

These have finally made it to the East coast of the US, I found them in TRU on my lunch break. They have a limit of 6 figs and they jacked the price up to $3/figure. They received the new shipment last night, the store opened at 10:00 this morning, I got there at 12:15 and I found the last Spartan. I guess someone else around here has been looking too. I hate the fact that they have a limit, but I guess I'm glad I got anything at all.

I guess I'll hit the TRU on the north end of town tonight and hopefully can get 6 more.

I had seen this on the Minifigure product page: "A maximum of 16 minifigures may be ordered per address, per household."
To me it seems pretty clear they are using address's as a filter to enforce thier limit, the above was copied from the USA product page.

Yep, sure. I was just making sure people knew that they probably won't be able to order more than once.

Went to the LEGO store near me this morning since they released series 2 today - Got there less then an hour before they opened and I think I got near, if not the, last Spartan. Limit was 16, so I was able to get the whole set.

Still going to keep my eye out for another Spartan or something to trade for a series 1 cheerleader... Missed getting it when series one was out.

Well, just to let everyone know I was gone for two days so, I missed the whole "16 fig limit" thing. Sorry, I missed the news.

Anyway, while I was gone, my brother visited the Legoland Discovery Center yet again and brought the barcode detector and more money this time. There's too much to write down here, because he was buying for 4 different people, but we got everything we wanted except for two. The Ringmaster and the Pop star. We'll be trading with a fellow TFOL and then we'll have a full set, although I may have to try and get a few duplicates after that. :) But, he saw/talked to an AFOL there for a short time. He never found out his username or anything, but he sounded cool.

Glad I'm finally getting the ones I wanted after getting practically nothing with Series one. :D

On a side note, does anyone know if anyone has made an army of 300 Spartans yet? :raiseone:

After much impatient waiting, one of the Walmarts in my area has finally restocked its shelves, and I was able to go in and buy a few. They had four boxes in, and I picked up three Spartans, two Egyptians, and one witch, although those details probably interest no one besides me.

Here's one thing that might be of interest to others. At the store where I bought mine, I had to ask for the minifigs. The store employees had them hidden away on a top shelf to avoid people riffling through without supervision and ripping open bags. So, if you're Canadian and your Walmart has finished its restocking but you don't see any minifigs, you might want to ask someone in the toy section to see if they've done something similar.

Apparently, this seller from Germany has done it. 350 figs is a ridiculous number, he/she must have bought over 116 boxes.

I hate the price gouging going on over at BL for these Spartans...

If only LEGO would do an Ancient Greece theme and make Spartan Battlepacks.. that would solve everyone's problems.

See...I think the better question is why does everyone have to hoard about this fig? How many do you REALLY need should be the question. I can understand wanting enough to fill your castle, but in a battle, how many do you really see well enough so they HAVE to be this fig? It is the fact that people just HAVE to have 300 of these that is making them sell for so high.

I don't fault any BL seller who is getting the price the ask. Its all about supply and demand. Someone will pay their price, if not...the fig will sit in their store until they either lower the price, or someone else will. There aren't very many people in the world who wouldn't price the Spartan at a higher price than the Ringmaster.

I presume the answer to that will be 300, given the movie... Personally, I'd like to have about 5 of them. But I'll probably settle for 2-3, unless I can find a box I can rummage through.

I think the problem is, in a battle scene, even if you can't see the figures very well, it will be very noticable if you have other figures thrown in as filler. Especially, with the Spartan's distinctive helmet. Though, as I recall, in the real battle of Thermopalye, there were a lot more warriors beyond the 300 Spartans. So some Spartans with some mismatched guys might be more realistic.

My local Toys R Us (in Nebraska) re-stocked the series 2 figs, this time for $2.99 a pop, with a 5 per customer limit. So at least we know some places other than Lego stores are able to re-stock.

This is actually why a limit makes perfect sense. Given that LEGO is a children's toy, providing wealthy adults with the opportunity to buy an unlimited number of these figures helps ensure that the target demographic is yet again left out in the cold. The barcodes already make it nearly impossible for a young child to walk into a store and acquire a Spartan by blindly rumaging through the box. Purchase limits are likely in place to prevent adult collectors from ruining the experience for younger buyers.

Heck, even though I'm disappointed by the prospect of no barcodes for series 3, I can understand why LEGO is going this route. Trying to purchase these collectable figs has been a terrible experience for many purhcasers.

Just to check the 16 limit thing. I made 2 orders. They cancelled the 2nd one. I did get 2 Spartans out of the 16. Just didn't need 3 surfers and 3 ringmasters. I can't find them anywhere where I live. If someone gets any they're gone with in an hour. At least I got some this time. I won't buy off of BL, the prices are too high. The gouging is rediculous.
