brick-built beast...oliphant...

Post by boses »

Hello...Here is a moc I recently built...The moc is of an oliphant, a large elephant like creature from LOTR...

I do not personally own an official pre-mold elephant, but I had a lot of fun building this moc...

Thank you, and please tell me what you think...

I like the oliphant.
The legs are great designed with the cheese slopes for the feet.
The ears and the body are cool too.
The only thing I don't like very much is the tail, it is too long.

I agree that the tail is too long. Do you have pics with a minifig for comparison? I'm thinking this is a baby oliphant. Adults should be bigger. Apart from that, you've done a great job of rendering it. If you make it bigger, you might be able to add new features.

Thank you for the replies...

Here are some size comparison pics...

I shortened the tail, which I agree was too long before...I disagree about the oliphant being too small though...

the trunk looks disproportionate to me. other than that I like it.

Now the oliphant looks better.
I think too that it is a baby oliphant or an oliphant for microscale...
BTW nice fig ;-)
