I would sooner support Lego fleshing out its representation of the medieval world rather than going for a (random) specific structured theme. There is so much potential in the medieval world that Lego has never touched (Where are the windmills and bridges and ferrymen? Why have the forestmen disappeared?), that if Lego simply focused on providing some variety -- taking the next steps beyond MMV, then people would have the materials to develop their own stories.

I too would love to see more sets like MMV, however, TLG seems deathly opposed to the idea. I mean, they have been going since 1949 and they have made 249 castle sets and only ONE out of ALL those sets is a medieval style village!?

Ahem... err yes I would support a Monster Hunters type sub theme. I think it would be pretty cool, although, I don't think that it should be released at the same time as current Kingdoms line,
(I don't know if that is what you mean) that would be to much castle-y stuff going on at one time.

I to like sets like the current kingdoms line and MMV and would like to see windmills ,farms,ect.. and i,m not saying get rid of them, thats why I put sub theme, as far as the "to much castle" thing if I recall wasn't Vikings and Knights Kingdom 3 out about the same time so it is possible to have 2 medeval themes at the same time, also this thread is about idea,it doesn,t have to be Monster hunters that was just my suggestion it could be fairy tales or what ever any of you think would be a good medeval sub theme.

I think that a sub-theme would only serve to dilute the strength of the castle line as fans branched off in their own directions. This in turn could lead to diminished sales and a full hiatus on the castle theme.

I appreciate that fantasy fans were upset with the introduction of Kingdoms but as a castle fan I don't want to see LEGO jump from this ship so quickly. It's only been a year so far. For some fans, one year of traditional castle is far too much, but for others it's been over a decade since we've had a proper castle line. I won't discourage others for asking for fantasy to return but I have no personal interest in seeing it happen at the expense of the first castle theme that I've been impressed with since the mid-90s.

It would be nice not being forced to choose, either "Fantasy" or non-fantasy. It was nice to have the fantasy items in the lineup and hopefully we will see them again.

I would like it, those forester lovers could get back their forestmen.... to fight vampires and zombies. :tasty:

I would prefer if resources went into making a falcon crested faction with black armor and blue tunics, along with a white and black falcon in the middle. :D

I would like it if lego continued the fantasy theme with trolls, knights, etc.

I agree with some sort of rolling midieval theme whole heartedly. I mean i had a renaissance wedding, so I am somewhat a fan. The castles are great, but yes we need more villages and everyday commoner life too. Take city for example, not only is there authority sets, but also a pizza shop and stuff that isnt on the government side so to speak. A bakery, a farm, and someone mentioned ferryman of medieval nature to go along with our taste for the simple life. I would also love to see TLG do something with micro scale. Yes we have archetecture, but something more practical to give more intrest to people just starting with it. I mean it was this site and a Brick Journal article on Marcos (his name escapes me but he is a member here and he won a microscale event) that really got me into it. Seems a good place to start new Lego fans with another building style.

Ok I shall stop rambling as typing on this phone is not so fun and I am probally boring someone.

This is just my 2 cents of input.

This is a very cool thread it gets you thinking.

I lover fantasy probably more than a classic castle theme, however I would like to see lego go for the gold and chase down classic castle village, especially if they started throwing in a little forestmen into the mix after all most of the times villagers were used the rob from the rich theme came up in lego. Especially if you use the current storyline. The Lion nights are so overwhelmed with there fight with the dragon knights that they have stopped protecting the villagers. What happens next the forestmen start to either develop because of it or become the protectors of the villagers from the dragon knights attacks. I think that storyline could be developed and still retain the current themes.

However would I like to see a sub theme, I am still at a lose. I love fantasy Monster hunters would be cool especially if you include many mythical monsters, try some of the Eastern ones etc. You could almost develop a whole line on monster hunters and mythical settings.

Anyways to answer your question I don't know. I lover fantasy but next release could be ripe for opening it up to a whole new line of foresmen or bandits.

I see Kingdom's as a specific line or sub-theme of Castle not a 're-placement' for Castle. That said I would not object to a separate Medevil theme but wonder if it'd split the buyer's dollars from Castle causing disappointing sales for both..... I'm sure I could even 'stand' having Castle have said Medevil sub-theme as part of it for a time, but not permanently....
Build? I merely Acquire atm.

I think Lego should make sets like Monster Hunters/Castlevania to fill the void when Harry Potters done ,and it dosen't have to be set in Medeval times it could be set in post-modern times as long as we get gothic castles and monsters.

hi ppl

I just saw the first episode of "Game Of Thrones" the new serie from HBO, and it looks like a good theme for TLC to adopt a new sub theme for castle
