Hot Pink Brick Separator

Post by Handar »

Dear Lego,

The Brick Separator is a fantastic invention. I love mine very much, but I can never find it. It blends in far too easily with all the green bricks and baseplates scattered around my table. A hot pink separator would never be lost, and I would love it even more.

Handar, If you go to bricklink and are willing to pay the price, there is a non-production bright orange brick separator that a few of us have around here. I ADORE mine for the exact reason you asked for this one. I can always find it.

Bluesecrets,

That's a fantastic hint! I actually looked at Bricklink before posting, but all the separators for sale were green. I'm going to have to keep a close eye out for an orange one, should one become available.

In the meantime, I'd still like Lego to produce a new run of brightly coloured brick separators.

Here are the two bricklink stores which had them in light bright orange in the past.

They aren't cheap. I think I paid $10 for mine at the time. Last time I was looking they were $15.

I do agree bright colors would be great. Yellow would be nice as pink. I'm not so sure how many males would want pink though.

Thanks for the links to the two stores. I'll be checking them on a regular basis, although Bricklink lists only three light bright orange separators that have been sold in the last six months. I'd rather not pay $15 for a separator, but given the amount of time it would save, I think it would be worth it.

As for the gender worries, I'm male and I'm all in favour of pink. It's the colour that probably would stand out the most on my messy table. At the same time, I'd be happy with any bright colour. :)

I'm in total agreement with you on that. I've been wishing for a red one for years so I'm pretty excited about the one coming out with the Wii controller.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

I was too, but I heard that it isn't actually happening. I guess that was a preliminary picture. Apparently the actual controller comes with a minifig wrench for popping off the tiles and such. I was very disappointed.

He heard this from me...who did indeed by the wii remote both for the coolness of the wii LEGO remote (and the fact that I needed another two) AND because I totally wanted the red one shown in the preliminary photo...and as Josh stated, alas...it the wrench they include in all the LEGO games. I was a little sad, but then I realized that I had gotten the coolest wii remote on the planet and now whenever I play with others..I can keep their grubby hands off of it!

It doesn't seem like anyone bothered to suggest that you simply change the color of the handle of the brick seperator you already have. Paint it with a plastic bonding acrylic or simply use a strip of brightly colored tape (or maybe stickers) around the handle. If all you are after is visibility, that seems to be the most economic idea.

True, you could do that. My issue would that I keep my separators in with my plates, hence the issue with them getting buried. If I painted the handle or put tape on it, it would wear over time...getting paint flakes or tape goo on my plates. Currently I make do by putting gray separators in with brighter plates and green separators in with darker colors.
