The "rob the rich" category seems to ask for two separate mocs, right? so twice 2x 32*32 or 48*48?

First, we are not looking only for a tower, but a complete walled castle. It may be better to enter your castle in the miscellaneous category. Please pm an admin with a photograph of the moc. Thanks.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but how many walls does the castle need in order to be a "complete walled castle"? I ask, becaus i plan to build a castle (inspired by one of my favourite existing castles), wich is dominated by one big main building/keep. There are walls and other buildings like stables, towers and a gate house and it will also have a small court. Does this qualify for the realistic castle category, if the main building/keep is very dominant or does it look to much like a tower? btw. how realistic should it be concerning decorations?

I read the rules and all the 5 pages of this topic, but I still have a question :
When you say "rural" or is there an era limitation for the subject ? For example, can I build something related to Ancient Egypt ? Last year, one of my MOC was historicaly too late so this year I prefer asking before starting building ! :raiseone:

Thanks for your answer.
If you always do what you always did, you always get what you always got.

A keep that has lower walls connected to it, outbuildings, and a courtyard is acceptable. However we are not looking only for a keep or tower.

The standard time line for CCC entries, unless stated in that category (ie: Castle Evolution, Mythical Battle) is from the fall of Rome to the burning of London in 1666.

I'm not sure by what measure you say that. 1666 is a pretty late date for the end of the Middle Ages, as the Renaissance began in Italy in the 1300s and spread north. In England this takes us well past the Elizabethan era into the Restoration. Heck, the Pilgrims landed in North America in 1620.

Graet that the ccc8 getting starting now and thanks to all involved parties!

I have a short question to enter the three pictures. I build a castle for the realistic castle section and published only one picture before in the web in a unready status together with me on my flickr and bricklink account.

Do I have to use this picture as one of three pictures for the ccc8 entrie or can I create three new one of ready castle for entrie?

Thanks for your answer.

I saw 1366 somehow. Apologies.

Currently I am working on my entry for the rob the rich category. There are two MOCs required to qualify for this category. Does this mean, that I can enter three pics for each MOC, wich is six pics in total?

No, you can enter any three pictures you want for the contest. Post as many additional photos as you like in a separate folder, but that will not be part of the judging.
Remember, though, if you previously posted the creation online before November 1 it will not qualify.

No. Enter a total of three pictures.

Easy mistake. Sorry if I came across harshly.

That gives me some fantastic ideas for the Castle Evolution category . . . anybody else know anything about alleged pre-Columbian contacts between Europe and America? ;)

In the 'Rob the Rich...' category, would it be acceptable to do two separate scenes that could also join together to form one, large composite scene for the third picture? My idea probably won't come to fruition anyway but it doesn't hurt to ask :tasty:

You should build two events that occur at separate times. Connecting the events does not make sense for this category.

That does make sense. However, is it allowed to entry a pic, that shows both MOCs next to each other for the purpose of presentation?

(well i had to dissamble the first part of the entry anyway, so i would only place them next to each other via copy and paste in Photoshop/gimp)

Yes. However, that would probably not be as helpful as a second closer-up picture of one of the MOCs that shows some of the details.
KumpelKante wrote: (well i had to dissamble the first part of the entry anyway, so i would only place them next to each other via copy and paste in Photoshop/gimp)
That, however, is not allowed. From the rules: "You may edit your images digitally, but only to clean up the images for presentation." By this we mean cropping and sizing, adjusting the brightness, contrast, sharpness, or other techniques to better show the LEGO creation as it actually exists, rather than using Photoshop/GIMP trickery to create something that does not quite exist. Basically what you're suggesting is a collage of multiple (well, 2) photos. We only allow that in the case of showing an 'action feature' - e.g. a trap door where you show a small photo with it open pasted into a larger photo with the door closed. Other examples of forbidden Photoshop techniques for the purpose of the contest are erasing supports to make something look like it is flying, pasting in a partially transparent figure as a ghost, altering the color to give an element that you don't have in the desired color (or that doesn't exist in the desired color), altering a torso design to make a custom fig, etc. We want to see your mad building skillz (or customizing skillz in the custom fig categories), not your mad Photoshop skillz.
On a related note, virtual (LDraw or LDD) MOCs are allowed, but they must be actually build-able. E.g. no phantom connections, bricks intersecting each other, elements floating in air, unavailable parts/colors, etc.

Sorry, I probably over-answered that question, but I wanted to address related questions people might have about photo alteration.
