My Christmas display

Postby ffilz » Wed Jan 05, 2011 3:34 pm

I thought I'd share some pictures of the Christmas display I set up this
year.

Sorry for the non-LEGO trains on the floor... I'm also into garden
railroading (though so far, this Christmas display is the only garden RR I
set up).

Last year we decided to put the tree on a big round coffee table, so I set
up a LEGO train around it, and added some buildings. This year, I decided to
build a LEGO scenery base that would fit around the tree stand. The base
comes apart into a bunch of pieces (8 major pieces, plus 3 wings, and a few
bridging pieces). Next year it will be refined, including adding LEGO
lighting to the buildings (this year, they are illuminated by a short strand
of Christmas lights).

The other day, I just received my order of 22"x22" cartons so I can pack the
display away until next Christmas.

That is pretty cool Frank! I have to say that makes me want to come up with something lego for under the Christmas tree.

My mother-in-law has one of those little Christmas villages with people. I decided to encircle them with my lego orc army, catapults, siege engines, battle wheel and all..... one of the best displays that village has ever been part of.

Thanks for posting the pictures!
