Knights In Tunic's
Well I am trying out how to make lego tunic's without using customs cloth or what ever.
So tell me what you think:

Have you considered using two of these pieces in black instead of the 1x2 plate for the feet?

I fear that the feet would be too much long with tooth pieces...Handar wrote:Have you considered using two of these pieces in black instead of the 1x2 plate for the feet?

Yes I agree, I would really want to keep it to look like minifiguren feet.K3G wrote:I fear that the feet would be too much long with tooth pieces...Handar wrote:Have you considered using two of these pieces in black instead of the 1x2 plate for the feet?

Re: Knights In Tunic's
Hmmm, how about this with 1x1 round plates for feet?

Re: Knights In Tunic's
Then might I suggest using two 1x1 black plates instead of the 1x2 plate? That would distinguish each foot from the other. Right now, it looks as if the feet are fused together.Kevin1990 wrote:Yes I agree, I would really want to keep it to look like minifiguren feet.K3G wrote:I fear that the feet would be too much long with tooth pieces...Handar wrote:Have you considered using two of these pieces in black instead of the 1x2 plate for the feet?
As for using the toothed pieces as feet, it has been done before, and to good effect in my opinion. Have you seen Kris Kelvin's Imperial Barracks? Some of the minifigures are built using these as feet, as in here, and the effect is quite nice. Again, this is obviously a matter of taste, and it makes complete sense to want to keep the feet looking more like 'normal' minifigure feet. If that's your aim, though, I would suggest two 1x1 plates instead of the single 1x2.

Re: Knights In Tunic's
I like it - nice and simple. But I also concur that 2 separate plates would help distinguish the feet from each other, particularly if you skewed them slightly.
Michael Jasper has got a nice idea here too - http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/mijas ... gpipes.jpg
I found that there are a fair few combinations you can do for the feet (including studs-up), and that a rubber band round the waist can help hide the holes - http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/slyow ... len/06.jpg (middle bottom)

Re: Knights In Tunic's
I think there's a good collection of idea's going around but I'd like to throw in one more. On some previous kilt work I utilized one of these:
The use of this plate gives a bit more pose-ability to the minfig in combination with the 1 x 1 tiles. Otherwise you end up with something a bit stiff.
Here's a Scottish Infantryman I made a while ago;
Regards,
Adam
