Colossal Castle Contest 8: Winning Entries!

Post by architect »

Congratulations to all of the winners in the Colossal Castle Contest VII! Your creations amaze us every year. Thank you to everyone who entered the contest. The huge number of well crafted entries is what made this contest colossal once again!

http://www.classic-castle.com/events/co ... nners.html

The scores were very close so we have provided an Honorable Mention for the top five entries in each category that did not win. Please contact Ben Ellermann by private message or email if you have won a category so we can ship out the prizes! The Master Builder prize will be announced in a few days.

Discuss the winning entries in this thread.

First off, I'd like to congratulate all the winners and thank everyone for taking the time to build and present all your fabulous entries! I had a wonderful time judging my first Colossal Castle Contest and I'm already looking forward to seeing what you all bring next year.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.

Yeah, pretty much what he said. I always enjoy judging this contest - I only wish we had fifty prizes to give away as there are tons of great entries.

Congratz to all the winners, i'm glad I got an Honorable Mention for "the Archer", this means a lot to me since I really liked this one myself. Hope to be having more time to build for the contest next year since I did not get round to much this year.

Thanks to everyone involved with the organisation and running of this fantastic contest every year. It must eat up a ton of time to put on - the efforts are much appreciated.

Congratulations to all the winners. I thought the standard of entries this year was particularly high, judging must have been a nightmare!
Increasingly irritated by the way real-world work impinges on building time...

Oh my, I feel very honored. I had not believed in a victory because of this extraordinary competitors.
I would not like to be a judge, due to the abundance of creative, professional and high-quality contributions.
I thank all who were involved and congratulate once again all the winners and all the others who have added their creations.
This contest was just fantastic and will it always be to all eternity..

Congrats to all the winners, participants and of course, the indefatigable orginisers and judges. With so many fantastic contenders, they would have needed the judgement of Soloman! I had a blast making my entry and can't wait for the next comp. :)

What a great contest. I really enjoyed doing the different entries. This was my first attempt at a contest, so to get two honorable mentions was great. Got to start planning for next year. :D

Thanks for the appreciation. The judging isn't too hard though. We all go over to Ben's house and hang pictures of all the entries on his living room wall. Then we throw darts at the entries we don't like and Bruce tallies it all up. The winners are the one's with the least holes. ;)

A huge and grateful thank you and my admiration goes to the admins for developing, running and judging this contest. I know just how much work, time, and energy it takes to run. Often the members do not realize just how much it takes to do, but several of us, myself included, do not ever forget and are very grateful and appreciative. It astounds me year after year, just how different and yet creative the categories are. Thank you Ben, Bruce, Josh, Tony, and Trevor.

For those who won and placed, congratulations you had some really great work.

While I did not have the pleasure of participating, I want to thank the judges form making this thing happening. I saw so many great creations come through there and it was a pleasure viewing each one. Congrats to the winners and the rest of the participants as well.
