History's greatest toys / Time article about LEGO toys

Hey all,

Time magazine put out a list of the top 100 toys developed in the last century. Of course LEGO is on the list (they don't actually rank the list, but just give them by decade). That article says almost nothing, but they do have a link to a Time article on LEGO from 1967 that is more interesting.

Alas, the comments are closed as this is over a month old. Allie Townsend wrote the following for Time:

The interesting part is if you follow the link to the 1967 article, the only place in that entire article that uses "Lego's" is when they're referring to the company itself: "Lego's line"- meaning the "company's" line. Every other instance where the actual elements are mentioned refers to them as Lego blocks.

I think Townsend's article is good evidence why TLG is losing it's battle to preserve it's trademark.
