yes ive playde it on the xbox though and its the best game in the world!!!Knight of Honor wrote:Yeah I was just wondering if anybody played Oblivion:Elder Scrolls for PC. I played it and it is a cool Rpg (I think its an RPG) But basically you can do anything like be a merchant, alchemist, 'gladiator', even a criminal. The game is a DVD because it is so big, and there is magic and stuff involved. I'd say it's one of the best PC games out there. So...yeah.

Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
Ah, I loved that game! I played it on the PS3. It's the only video game I've invested any time in since I was playing King's Quest IV for the Apple IIGS, I think it was. I also had read that Bethesda had no plans for a fifth Elder Scrolls. I suppose that's just as well, as it sure was a black hole sucking up time. That being said, it'd be lots of fun re-creating those buildings in LEGO.

The Shivering Isles could well be the perfect fodder for MOCing...ruined temples, exotic jungles, harsh swamps, and crazy palaces...I know what I'm doing tonight!
A MOC a day keeps the doctor away.
Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
Apparently Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been announced for release on 11-11-11. You can see the trailer at http://elderscrolls.com/. I had despaired of this game ever getting made, which probably would have been better, because there would definitely be less child neglect in this household without Mommy being obsessed with a video game. I actually have only ever really played one video game in my adult life, which was Oblivion, and it was fantastic.
I also want to go and make all the buildings in Oblivion in LEGO, but I really don't have the parts or skills to do that yet.
Ah, fantasy realms.... I love you so.

Finally! I've prayed to many deities for this game to finally be announced. Oblivion consumed my life for hundreds of hours. That game is one of the finest ever made. The beautiful fantasy setting is like something from a novel and it has inspired me in my writing and daydreaming far more than once or twice. And it being Skyrim is just fine with me because my absolute favorite town in Oblivion is Bruma. xDeilonwy77 wrote:Apparently Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been announced for release on 11-11-11. This is great, great, fantastic, adjective-of-your-choosing news!

Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
I borrowed Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion from a friend and was quite impressed. The only thing I didn't like about the game was Oblivion it's self. It was dark, bland, and repetitive. However, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim looks very promising and I'm very much looking forward to it's release.

Yes I have played Oblivion and have played many mods from that game. My favorited mod was a predator mod that added a playable predator to the mod. Yeah it kind of strayed away from the lore but it was fun after playing through the game as the standard Elder Scrolls fair. If any of you are interested in mods the best place for mods is a nexus. It has been a long time since I have gone to Oblivion's nexus page so you will need to look it up. Those sites are not maintained by the actual publisher but I have found that they seem to have the most mods for any Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3 and New Vegas game.

Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
Skyrim indeed should be a great game. I've played Oblivion for years and I'm still finding new things about it. My favorite thing about it is the ease of "modding", although it's so simple that it can't really be called that. All you have to do is type in a code, and then boom, you can create new characters, texts (complicated), or names. I enjoy creating mini-campaigns and new members, such as a family for your character (no kids, unfortunately), or even a new emperor. Fun.
If I were to make something out of LEGOs, I would probably use LEGOs. Pretty advanced stuff going on up in my head.
Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
I played Oblivion on the PS3, and that didn't allow for modding. I rather regret that limitation. Perhaps I should get Skyrim for the computer instead, as from the sounds of it, modding is a ton of fun.

Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
Yes you definately should get it for the computer. Any Bethesda game is much better on the computer because of the modding community. People might complain of the graphics on an older game but I have seen even oblivion tweaked out with textures that almost put it on par with games that come out today. Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas were the same. Good games but the modding community has allowed those games to become the best roleplaying games out there. So yes do get it for the computer and remember the most estensive databases I have ever found for the Bethesda games are from the Nexus forums. Usually they will take the name and add nexus to i so for instance it will probably be skyrimnexus.com like newvegasnexus.com is for fallout new vegas.eilonwy77 wrote:I played Oblivion on the PS3, and that didn't allow for modding. I played more than 360 200 hours, the grand opening of the world to play. Forgotten is very interesting, the top shelf Fallout 3 is an open world science fiction and entertainment from Bethesda...

Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
I have played a little Oblivion and was hooked almost instantly. I've played a lot of Morrowind and was not instantly hooked but then got REALLY into it on a second start (modding helped as well). Skyrim looks amazing form the trailers alone.
...and that's how Equestria was made!

Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
Wait, isn't Skyrim supposed to include dragons without mods?

Re: Does anybody player Oblivion: Elder Scrolls?
Yeah, but maybe he was referring to the fact that you can't ride them in Skyrim. With mods, though, as he may be referencing, you may be able to.
