Using Collectible Figure Parts in Castle MOCs

Postby andhe » Wed Jun 15, 2011 6:20 am

This thought stemmed from a discussion in another thread but thought it qualified for one of it's own.

The Collectible figures series is great for new parts and moulds and I'm enjoying the diversity of themes in each series. I've also seen a lot of clever castle-related uses for various accessories (ice skates as an axe for example) and figure parts.

So what uses have you found/seen for these parts? Is any part beyond usage in the castle theme? Is any figure truly worthless (in terms of castle)?

I seem to be amassing an army of were-wolves in the hope I can integrate them into my troll/skeleton army.

Regards,

I have yet to find a Castle use for any of the parts in the series 4 skateboarder. Which is mildly aggravating, since I have umpteen frillion of him.

There are several elements I think would work. Some are ideas I picked up off the net, but they work.

As for the Skateboarder, without Brasso I do not see a use for him either.

There are various faces from the Collectible Minifigure Series that I use to add variety to my factions, as well as my peasants.

There was, so far, ONE truly Castle fig, hopefully we'll see more. :)

The punk rocker hair might look good on an orc.

Monsters, werewolves, and gnomes could all be useful in a fantasy setting.

Mad Scientist could be an alchemist, or his face might look good on a crazy gnome inventor.

Yeah a gnome army would be awesome, though I have found that the beard and hat don't seem to work on other (non-gnome) figs without looking goofy?? Was hoping it might be good for Santa's elves, or some persian type(?) warriors. But everyone just looks like a green smurf.

I will be interesting to see how some of the new moulds crop up in the main Lego themes in the future.

if you turn the beanie around it looks vaguely like a gnome's hat, you have to tilt it so it doesn't stay on very well.

Here is a use of the minifig ski poles from the series 2 skier. Bikicsmilan posted it a while back: Dubbing of the Minifigski Poles
