I've finally cleared some time from my calendar to work on a proper castle MOC, and I'm really excited. Can't wait to see what all you crazy builders are going to bring as well!

I'm almost done with my desert MOC for BrickCon :D I can't wait!
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs

Mine is in the process of being boxed up to mail out next week (waiting for payday..you know?). I'm way excited too. I think I'll probably spend a huge amount of Thursday putting it all together...got a lot of details to put in place..and two HUGE (of almost all TAN) boxes that will need to be emptied.

Which by the way...I have learned these air packets everything is being packaged with now..SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK for mailing to the MOC's. LEGO tends to pop them now matter how much bubble wrap you use. Its all about the old fashion packaging peanuts for getting an MOC alive when traveling. Says the female who has bought 3 cubic feet of packaging peanuts so she has her stuff intact.

Now if only the last few pieces of non-tan that I need would show up. Go Click-its!!!

Just an update. Things are getting close and going well. Castle is going to be EXTREMELY well represented. We may be stealing tables and/or overflowing into other theme's areas, instead of vice-versa. I have sent out a couple of emails asking for clarifications on dimensions. If you received one of those, I need a reply ASAP.

Thanks!

I'm going to be building mine up to the last minute... the hardest part will probably be stuffing it into my car. I can't imagine the nightmare of mailing them.

Its the cost of the mailing and the shear size of the boxes...I have 21x21x21 inch box and a 17x17x17 inch box heading out there..packed to the brim each.

Just out of curiosity, how do folks generally manage this? If you're not local, what destination do you use as a recipient for the shipment? (I'm in the Seattle area, so I just throw some stuff in the car and head across the bridge each day; I haven't had to manage flying with or shipping big LEGO projects.)

I just stick everything in my suitcase, find a suitcase full of loose pieces when I arrive, and start building again :P

Sometimes you can ship to your hotel, sometimes you can ship to a really really really really good friend who lives there, and other times people at the con are really really really really nice and let you ship to them and they bring it to your table for you, but you have to figure out how you get it back.

Hahahaha...see I'd try that but I don't think I have a suitcase big enough for this layout this time. That and I watched them throwing my suitcase onto a plane once. Not to even speak of the fact that any of what I have built this time would totally put me over the 50 pound suitcase limit...extra fees...boo luggage fees.

I've put up some updated shots on Flicker. I think I'm about 80% done. Still not sure how I'm going to transport all of it.

Just don't do what Aliencat does. He builds things and leaves them at home. At least he says he builds them.... ;)
