Re: Newbie Here *wave*
I'm happy to report the operation was... successful! My mother convinced my father to let me take "only my castle legos." Of course I made off with some other things - like some space minifigures and random bricks as well.
The box of legos in the guest room were about 1/2 of my castle legos. The other legos were mixed in with everything else. So I pulled out the directions and put all the sets together. It took about four days with distractions of "you don't really need that piece for that set do you??" from my brother. I introduced him to Bricklink and he put in an order replacing things I took. (ENABLE~ENABLE~ENABLE)
Funniest find: One set of directions (set 6077) has notes of what I named each of the mini-figures from that set: Jack, Sam, Jenena, Kanderaha*, Conte, and Corey.
*How do you pronounce THAT?

Congratulations! That's neat that you actually named your minifigures. Mine were always too busy chopping off each others' heads to be too concerned about having names.

A win for female AFOLs everywhere!! I also named my minifigs, and in my elite collection I can still tell you their entire backstories and future plansAshkestral wrote:I'm happy to report the operation was... successful!

Good to hear the rescue mission went well.
Some folk we never forget
Some kind we never forgive
Haven’t seen the back of us yet
We’ll fight as long as we live

I have vague recollections of giving names to some, only some, of my mini-figures back in the day. I think I named the Spyrus guy with the headband after the main character in the movie "The Rocketeer". I can't bring myself to do it now, though, as I'm afraid I'd get so attached I'd never take them apart.theboywarrior wrote:I named mine too, and I'm a guy!annie2200 wrote:A win for female AFOLs everywhere!! Anyway, it's great that you were able to recover your old collection! I'm lucky to still have most everything I've owned, down to the first set I (remember) getting back when I was three, THREE years old! Oh man...
Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you make next! And don't worry too much about picture quality. Most of us aren't also master photographers. (Although I can always dream.)
