Re: Harold, The Traveling Castle Fig
Hi, It’s me, Harold.
I wanted to get in touch again and report my last travel experience.
It was late fall of last year, that is already in the holiday season when I made my trip from Oregon U.S. towards good old Germany.
The actual trip was not really long, it was only a problem in Frankfurt, where I took aside by the minions of the duty, I had to undergo some tests on me there. Maybe it was because I kept some of my stuff in an old drug can? Well anyway, I will chance the container for the next trip.
When I was finally freed from the clutches of the duty, so I sat on my way to Hanover. When I finally was there, I was lucky to get an invitation from a certain Vladek. He offered me to host on his "castle". I should be suspicious.
But how naive I was, I thought nothing too bad when we had to use a boat to get to the apartments. At the bow there was certainly an exhilarating feeling. I felt free as a bird ... But it was a fairly long time the last time I felt myself so. But first things first.
After the short trip we arrived at a dilapidated dock. And from then on was the host no longer welcome. I only had a small room with no windows and the room service was abysmal.
I do not remember exactly how many days I was stuck in this cold, damp dungeon, but one night I heard noise of battle. Some were shouting commands and suddenly my door was broken. First I was a little startled because the journeyman, who looked to getting used to. But in the end I followed their suggestion to accompany them and we fled through the thicket.
And then I saw him. An oliphaunt! The orcs, so my liberator called, suggested that I should travel with the oliphaunt. It would go faster. It was somewhat difficult to climb, but I finaly did it.
After a few days (you can get seasick on land), we were well on reaching their destination, at least I was picked up by orcs again and we went to another hotel. The innkeeper greeted us personally and offered to accompany me to my suite.
After about 15.648 stairs, we were finally here. Had I known this before, I had insisted on a room in the pattern. But the view was fantastic.
The view was fantastic also the next day. And the day after. And the day after ... And the day after. Somehow, the room service also seemed to be not working here and also this door clamped.
When I was already annoyed slow, I heard voices at the door and it was broken. It seems to be common here.
I n any case, an old gray man with a funny hat spoke to me. He knew this room and for a long vacation it was not so nice. He offered to bring me into a more hospitable environment and to present the regional ruler. Of course I accepted.
And indeed. I was invited into a nice little village and the landlord personally greeted me.
He regretted my various inconveniences and invited as compensation for a dip into his treasury. Incredibly, I had never experienced something like this. And these helpful ladies are even present at the bath. Of course, I had nothing to hide ...
After a few days of rest I took part in a trip. Despite freezing temperatures and snowy weather, we drove north. We passed Verden, where was built a large church.
In the early afternoon we reached Bremen. There we met many other people who like me swung green and white flags for sympathy. They met at the current league match Werder Bremen (the good guys) against the Red Devils of Betzenberg (the not so good guys, there were only a few fans and we don’t like them).
My suggestion to the significant minority ado heads was rejected. Do not know why. After 90 minutes, the exciting part, the team Bremen lost. 1:2. The referee I was not allowed to decapitate, too.
To get us back on other ideas, we gone to the local Christmas market and have the evening with a variety of delicacies in solid and liquid form embellished.
The driver of course not, who brought us in the night back to Hanover.
After a few more days and a visit to the town hall of Hannover (My host said that he would like to build it someday. Do not understand why, it's already there!?)
It was again time to pack my things. While packing, my host noticed that I am traveling without a shield. He insisted that I did choose a shield from his collection and should lead to my guardian with me. I chose a shield with a lion. It just looks classic.
I said “thank you” and goodbye, and I'm now on my trip to Canada.
See you soon,
Harold.

Tedward, do you still have Harold? I was wondering if your holding onto him until Brickcon as it would be really disheartening to hear that he was lost in the mail so close to the end of his journey.

Hey all,
Tedward, have you posted photos?
Breadman, are you there? Are you going to BrickCon? If so, be sure to bring Harold (you could also hand him off to Caylin while you're there).

Gack! I need to set myself a reminder to do that.
I believe Brendan said he is coming and even mentioned bringing Harold in his post.

It would be a great pleasure to me and my royal castle household if Harold would visit me on his next round. Please take me on the list and pictures will follow for sure. Thanks!
