34. The official LEGO factions that would qualify as bandits are forestmen, wolfpack, bulls, and vikings. You may also create your own bandit faction. Regular knights such as in the Mill Village Raid would not qualify as bandits in this category.

35. The pages are not ready yet. From the first post in this thread:
Note: We are working with our programmer to update the entry pages. Please be patient as it may take one to two weeks for these pages to be operable. Thanks.

So generic bandits qualify for a bandit faction? How about orks, they do not seem very organized either (opposed to black falcons, dragon masters and the like)

Thanks. I have another question  Is there a maximum height for my creation (like 48 studs)? I couldn't find it in the rules so I wanted to make sure I didn't go over the height.

36. This category is not intended to be a fantasy castle category. Your bandits should be 100% human. Thanks.

37. No. Remember that you are limited to three photographs for each entry. An excessively tall moc may be difficult to photograph.

It strikes me that people have sort of been working themselves into a corner with some of the questions. Asking about rules of form is one thing; asking about creative content is another.

Dang! I just posted an entry for that with orcs and undead. Ah well, to the misc. category goes I...
Some folk we never forget
Some kind we never forgive
Haven’t seen the back of us yet
We’ll fight as long as we live

Can we make more than one creation for same category?
Is forced perspective allowed?

Regarding of recycling the ideas:
-is it ok to use some of OUR OWN old stuff, for example, fence, bridge or tree used before..Where do you draw the line here?

Knight's Quest category:
-can we use female knight?
-do we have to use the same knight in all three scenes?
-does the hero have to win in his quest?
-can I reuse bandits used in Bandit's Raid category?

Bandit's Raid category:
-can I make just a section of the monastery here? For example, just the entrance?
architect wrote: 36. This category is not intended to be a fantasy castle category. Your bandits should be 100% human. Thanks.
that means, I can not have werewolf accompanying Wolfpack?

Fantasy Castle Figure category:
-is it ok to use ONLY Lego pieces to make custom figure?
-can I use this figure in other categories?

Medieval Holiday category:
-Is it ok to make some pagan holiday that is not widely known? Where do you draw the line here?

Thanx for your time :)

I'll wade into these waters. First, a general note - C'mon, everyone, the CCC is about having fun building with LEGO, not about debating every jot and tittle of the rules page. If something doesn't fit a category, it will just get bumped into the Misc. category, which is no shame. You don't have to ask us about each brick you stack together.

Anyway:
Surduk wrote:Can we make more than one creation for same category?
38 - From the rules page: "You may submit up to 2 entries into each category."
Surduk wrote:Is forced perspective allowed?
39 - Yes. A quick look at past contests would have shown several examples of this.
Surduk wrote: Regarding of recycling the ideas:
-is it ok to use some of OUR OWN old stuff, for example, fence, bridge or tree used before..Where do you draw the line here?
40 - See my response in this thread. It is really a question of scale. If you have some minor element that you've done before, that is one thing. If you are re-using a major portion of a MOC, probably not.
Surduk wrote: Knight's Quest category:
-can we use female knight?
41 The Colossal Castle Contest is an Equal Opportunity Contest. This contest does not and will not discriminate in entries and judging practices on the basis of minifig race, sex, age, handicap, religion, national origin or any other basis prohibited by applicable law.
Surduk wrote: Knight's Quest category:
-do we have to use the same knight in all three scenes?
42 - Yes, this should really be a story about a particular knight. Or about that knight and his (or her) companions.
Surduk wrote: Knight's Quest category:
-does the hero have to win in his quest?
43From The Lion in Winter:
Prince Geoffrey: My you chivalric fool... as if the way one fell down mattered.
Prince Richard: When the fall is all there is, it matters.

A heroic death is still heroic.
Surduk wrote: Knight's Quest category:
-can I reuse bandits used in Bandit's Raid category?
44 - Yes. In fact, this might be relevant to the Cross-Category 'series' award.
Surduk wrote: Bandit's Raid category:
-can I make just a section of the monastery here? For example, just the entrance?
45 - As long as it fits in the size restrictions, you can build as much or as little of a monastery as you desire.

46 - If you're in the mood to build a werewolf, I suggest you consider the mythical creature and fantasy castle figure categories.
Surduk wrote: Fantasy Castle Figure category:
-is it ok to use ONLY Lego pieces to make custom figure?
47 Sure. I don't think a totally purist figure has ever won this category, but many have tried. There are builders like Michael Jasper, just to give one, who have shown that you can do amazing things with just official elements.
Surduk wrote: Fantasy Castle Figure category:
-can I use this figure in other categories?
48 - Tentatively I'll say no, but will get back to you on this. -Edit- Okay, after talking with other judges, , definitely no.
Surduk wrote: Medieval Holiday category:
-Is it ok to make some pagan holiday that is not widely known? Where do you draw the line here?
49 - See the above non-discrimination language above. Something like Samhain etc would be perfectly fine. It should be a real historically observed holiday and not something fictional. If it's particularly obscure, hopefully your title and description will help clarify what's going on.

Ok, so does this means that we are allowed to reuse characters from one category in another, unless it's a minifig made
for any of the Custom Minifigure categories?

@Surduk: I can't wait to see what are you going to make. Is it going to be in Varaždin?

22, 44, 48 Yes, that is it. Think of it this way - a custom fig entry is a MOC in and of itself, and is its own category. The fact that you happened to combine a particular standard official torso with the same color legs, the same head, and the same helm in more than one scene is not really a major 'MOC' that is being reused.

Btw. where do you draw the line between a custom fig and the mythical creature category?
