Lego Conventions in Michigan?

Post by Kayne_ »

Fairly new to the AFOL community, and I was just wondering if anyone new of any conventions in Michigan? I've seen a couple fairly close in Ft. Wayne, Indy and Chicago but I thought maybe there was something in the Detroit area? And if so, do any CC users do any displays there?

Hey,

Welcome to CC and to the larger AFOL online community. You should definitely check out MichLUG (Michigan Lego Users Group):
http://www.michlug.org/
They seem to be a pretty active group, and I've seen pictures of some pretty impressive group displays they've done in the past. At least a couple of members are also here on CC. From looking at their webpage, it looks like they've got a display at the Henry Ford Museum for the month of December, so that's in your area.

I've noticed a ton of Michigan people were at Brickworld in Chicago. I don't believe any convention is closer than that. Of course, as Bruce suggested, definitely check out MichLUG if you're in the area. I live in the UP, so that's not an option for me. :(

Duane has been doing Brick Bash in Ann Arbor, MI for several years now. It's always in March.
