Looks like this set will be released on December 26th according to the store calendar. Maybe I'll save that christmas money from all these pre-christmas sales...

Really happy to see what may be a return of the Black Falcon faction. Even if he is a lone BF character he sure is awesome. Look at that shield and the spiffy breastplate.

The level of detail in some of these new Lego sets has been great. I love the windows and the general building of the surrounding structures.

I was very excited when I first saw the images of this set in october :tasty:. That finally a joust tournamet set from Lego, cause this was something that has been on my mind this year, that why dosent TLG do a set with Joust. Then I started to look more closely at the images and then saw the shields with a Falcon, then I was really excited  yes finally Lego does bring back the Black Falcons :D.
Gatekeeper wrote:The Falcons are great, and I do hope they come back, however, I have to agree with many of the posters here. We won't know what LEGO is really going to do with the Falcon's until they decide to release it.
Here's to hoping for the Falcon's reboot!
a one time thing
I agree to that we`ll see is this going to be a one time thing or a reboot. I for one really hope so
But then to one thing the price, whoa that is pricey. These sets are getting more expensive for every year that goes. 119,99 dollars, in the US thats 89 euros and that is not at all bad. But then again thats not the price in Finland, in Finland and around here Legos are very expensive, this set is on in Lego shop for Finland 139 euros = 185 dollars  :orc: that's ridiculous.
Ok now I am just being a whinner, but that doesnt change that fact that Legos are way to expensive. Thats why I buy them from abroad or on 50 % sale.
But back to the beginning, great set, thank you Lego for listening to your consumers/fans for making these great sets.

I just have to note the reason that I appreciate this set. I live in GA and we do have a renfair that happens in april each year. The main gates are almost exactly the same as the archways and towers of this model, and now im thinking what the heck, why not try to build myself a nice renfair map out of it and some of my spare parts. Probally will never happen BUT is something that my coworkers and I have already discussed and might possibly do.

Now i just gotta figure out what pirate ship to break down for the "Pirate Ship" shop and a minifig befitting of my friend who runs it, Captain Matt.....

I will be giving the set a full review most likely when it comes in and I build it for store display.

Ok building The Joust for display purposes and I do say that I rather like it. Good mix of parts, I love the competitors tents and such. Well done towers without the use of the big wall plate we saw so much in HP sets.

Overall Good set, 20 bucks more than MMV with a few less parts, BUT it still is more than worth it. I will be doing the 2x version that it shows on the back of the box.

Hello guys and happy new year!(This is my 1st post for 2012)

Well i am not sure if you have noticed, but if you check the emblems on the black falcon barding:
http://www.eurobricks.com/bonaparte/ima ... ck_010.jpg
Are similar with the emblem on the lego minifigures musketeer:
http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/mini ... col051.jpg
This may be a nice idea to use the barding for a musketeer horse, or you can even use the musketeer torso for a castle archer (a black falcon elite archer since it is also blue?). It also has a belt "to support" the quiver. What do you think? :raiseone:

I bet this has already been said, but just in case it has not - this is my favorite castle set ever! I know most of you prefer the older castle sets, but IMHO 10223 is second to none! Here is a list of the top 3 reasons why I love this set -

1. Good price/piece ratio
2. No panels (all brick built)
3. Awesome knight mini figures (black falcon!)

Seems like a great idea. Not a big fan of the shirt collar, but the idea of the belt supporting the quiver is a great observation :)

Picked up my Joust set this weekend! :) It really worked out too, because I received a $100 gift card for Christmas to the Lego Store. Then, my new Lego catalog came in the mail on Thursday, and it has a 10% off coupon for any one item. Plus, I had $15 in VIP accrued on my account. So, it ended up with the coupon savings, VIP, and gift card, I only owed .77 cents for my Kingdoms Joust. :D :D

The Kingdoms line is basically gone from the store completely. There were two areas near the back, completely covered away where they kept the Joust sets and then a pile of Medieval Market. I got so frustrated when I saw the MM because I remember rushing out to buy it the first couple of weeks of its release, worried it would sell out like the battle packs always did. So I skipped buying the large Castle Siege, but it turned out I would never see that set again.

I just built this last night...I have to say the pictures don't do it justice - the completed set is one of the most beautiful you'll ever see.

The best bit of the build was definitely the twin towers and large archway behind the joust proper - so much attention to detail, interesting build techniques and new (to me) and interesting pieces. I have to say that if you are into castle MOCing you won't be disappointed with the parts selection on offer in this set!

The minifig selection is a bit of a let-down - the only new figures are the nobleman and princess (although I have to admit the princess is gorgeous), all the others are repeats from other sets. The Falcon knight's armour, shield and barding are new, but his torso/leg prints are just the same as the Dragon Knights from the rest of the Kingdom's line. There's also an interesting smattering of accessories so I got a couple of printed tiles I haven't had before, plus a bread stick, cherrries, a book etc etc

I think it is important to note that this set is designed for display - there're no play features at all (although my son was quite happy this morning to have the Lion knight roundly beat the Falcon Knight and imprison him in the attic of one of the towers). Also, while the interiors of the main building have some furniture and other detailing, looking sideways you are literally only getting half a building - you will need two sets if you want to have a fully enclosed structure viewable from 360 degrees.

Overall I give this two thumbs up - it's great whether or not you want to build it and display it or utilise the parts for your own castle creations.
