Series 6 is in stores with some castle worthy figures.

Post by DaleDVM »

I just went and picked up some series 6 figures here in Chicago. As always the figs look better in person than on the pictures. I was able to get all 16 and multiples of the Minotaur, Highlander, and Roman.

I think those three are all castle worthy. Obviously the minotaur is fantasy/mythological based. The Highlander and Roman are striaght up historical castle figs.

Is anyone planning on buying these figs to add as a faction?

I am aiming for 10 Romans. They are just going to be too expensive to justify more for myself. They are not available in stores here (none of the series have been) and so i am left with BrickLink as an option. I have ordered a few already.

The Romans are also pre-medieval which doesn't interest me as much. However the "coolness" of Romans makes it too hard to pass up getting some of them.

I saw on Bricklink the Romans are already going for over $10 a piece. Ouch.

Having missed out completely on the Spartan--and being too cheap to justify getting any off Bricklink when I don't really *need* them (even by the loose standards of what constitutes LEGO "need"), I feel that I am going to have to try and get at least a couple Romans just to say that I have them, but I doubt they'll end up being a "faction" in my LEGO world.

The Highlander is potentially another matter though...

I am going to get some of the romans and highlander figs but not to make a faction more like Formendacil just to say I got them. And then I am going to look for some of the space girl, for the head and the blonde hair piece and then the car greasemonkey :) maybe a minotaur

There are 5 Highlanders per box and 3 Romans per box. Wish it was the other way around. I am glad to see the new longsword though.

Wow, these figs keep getting better and better. My only complaint is I can't keep up with the releases. Slow down LEGO! I'm still seeing the odd series 3 figure in Australian stores.

I want to armybuild 100 of those Romans. Ive always hoped for Roman based sets- so that will have to do. The secondary market price does hurt bigtime though.

And according to the advert at the back of the latest lego club magazine, we'll be seeing series 8 in march, which seems hot on the heels of the Jan release of series 6.

I missed out on the Spartan too. (BIG MISTAKE) The spartans are like 10 bucks (or so.) on BL, and I can't afford any lage number of them. I'm really hoping to get a bunch of Roman\Highlander guys at a store so I don't have to pay these rediculous prices.
The poblem is... I checked at the local Walmart today. And they were NOT there!! Naturallly I was upset Because
there are no other stores that carry LEGO within an hour and a half away!!! Ohwell... I'll get a few somehow.

 That's funny Blake! I could see you getting excited about them. If I find one I will let you know! :tasty:

I love the highlander! Though I don't think that he'll get his own faction; instead, he'll be mixed in with Vikings to make a Barbarian army.

(all of this is assuming that I get any)

I was talking to someone at a local toy store about Series VI, since they didn't yet have them on the shelves. She said that while they have been released in North America, 'released' in this case only means released to official Lego stores. In other words, Lego has released them to themselves, but they will not be released to other retailers until February. (At least, that was the expected date this manager had.)

My question is this. Has anyone else yet seen these in North America in a non-Lego store?

If the answer is no, then you probably don't need to worry, Mark. Check back in February, and you may well find them.

Ok that sucks if you don`t live near to a Lego store. But I have to brag, just a bit  Thats one thing that is good here in Finland now, they are starting to come to all stores now (we don`t have a official lego shop here, that sucks :( ) . Yesterday I buy one, got a Genie  when I have time I have to search for those I want from series 6.
