Think about this

* Parents will buy them for kids because of the Mystery/Castle/Fantasy lure
* LOTR fans will buy even if they aren't lego fans because they collect everything LOTR
* AFOL's like us will buy them like crazy because new helmets, armor, horses, weapons, elves and orcs are just too megblocks tempting!

Thanks Annie. I like the cheekbones. Makes the face look more slender. The big debate is going to be on the quiver/long hair/bow all on the back. Is there some new combo of molds that will work together for our minifigs? The thought of it is exciting.

I'm sure we only have to wait a few more weeks to get toy show photos. :raiseone:

Seeing the gladius in LEGOlas hands reveals how well that sword works as a sword of Rohan. I imagine it will be used for them.

i dont like the ears cause they are flesh color, they should have made the headpiece so its useable for regulare lego heads. Other then that it looks great.

This was exactly my second thought after the cheekbones. I wonder if the longbow is clipping onto the quiver? How long is the hair! I am also excited!!!

That Legolas fig looks really nice, even if it is a fleshie. The ears/head mold is amazing. I think it is the best Lotr fig lego has released so far.
You would rather be building right now.

By the way, will it be correct to say LEGO Legolas when that figure comes out? Seems redundant. :-)

Aragorn's whiskers look silly. At least his sword is cool, though. Legolas's gear is pretty nice too.

The sword in Aragorn's picture looks so cool! Legolas's equipment looks awesome too.

Likely refers to the opening of "Fellowship", will probably include Frodo, Gandalf, a cart (vehicle!), and maybe a tree. This is the set in the $12 -15 rangeish, is my guess.
tiberium_blue wrote:9470 Shelob Attacks
ROTK, Minifigs are Frodo, Sam, and (maybe) Gollum. A giant spider is a pretty good idea for a mid-range set, as the Harry Potter line showed. It also has the advantage of tying in closely with The Hobbit.
tiberium_blue wrote:9471 Uruk-hai Army
This could be a couple different things from the end of Fellowship through Two Towers, but my guess is either the Breaking of the Fellowship (Minifigs are Uruks, Aragorn, and/or Boromir), or the flight towards Fangorn (Fellowship minifigs are captive Merry and Pippin.)
tiberium_blue wrote:9472 Attack on Weathertop
Another decent choice for transferring Lord of the Rings scenes to playsets, as the Weathertop ruins are self-contained and easily suggested with few bricks. Minifigs will be Frodo and a Ringwraith for sure, and depending on the size of the set, may also include (in decreasing likelihood) Aragorn, another Wraith, Sam, more Wraiths, and Merry & Pippen.
tiberium_blue wrote:9473 The Mines of Moria
One contender for the "flagship" set. Will probably include whatever members of the Fellowship aren't in any other set.
tiberium_blue wrote:9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep
Basically the same, though we'll likely get a Theoden fig, and maybe a Haldir, too.
tiberium_blue wrote:9476 The Orc Forge
OK, this I have no real idea, though it sounds like something out of Orthanc - maybe we'll see a Saruman minifig? If so, id be nice if this was on the smaller side.
Pretty spot on there Azaghal! Very impressed with your breakdown!

While the gladius is a cool sword, it doesn't make any sense to me why Legolas would carry it. The movies feature a distinct style of elven blade. Ideally there would be a new mold for this piece, but I guess that's not going to happen. Still, elves is evles . :)

Why would Lego have made licnsed themes fleshie in the first place? Really, no kid will care, but in changing the color of the figs they alienated all the AFOLs. Bad move, Lego.
