Looking for AFOL's in North Georgia/Atlanta area.

Post by Life_Unscripted »

Hey everyone, I was just posting this because for many years I've been wanting to find people in my area who were into the hobby. I haven't been to any conventions yet since this region of the US doesn't seem to have many, so I haven't had a big chance to network much. From what I see the North Georgia Lego Train Club is kinda sparse in activity and DixieLug seems to be similarly dead. Maybe I am not looking on the right sites? Anyway, just hoping to find some fellow brickheads to share ideas and tips with, or maybe lego trades. Thanks! -Jonathon

If you were just a LITTLE more easterly... I'm in Beaufort, SC and facing the same problem. Have been for years in fact. There doesn't seem to be many people around me interested in Lego.

Wow yikes, that is out there lol But at least you get the beach lol There seem to be a few around Atlanta, but I haven't got in touch with any of them yet. I should make a post like this in every lego forum.

Yeah, you probably could. Not many people pass through all the boards. In fact, there's some board (good ones too) that I haven't visited in more than a year or two. You never know when someone might just wander through one.

Ah, nice. That's a lot closer definitely. One of these days I'll make it to a brickfair or festival. Someday... grrr. Till then, I'll tinker in my garage convincing myself I'm "sorting" :)

Oh cool. That sounds managable. We should get a group together once I find enough people and a place to meet that is kinda in the middle. Gas is getting expensive though, though so is Lego. I just spent like $350 on bricklink from 6 different stores just tonight because I couldnt stop clicking buttons... I was like..Ooo I want that...and that...and that... I think I have bought every single specialty piece or printed on piece lego makes now lol

I... *almost*... spent $500 on Shop-at-home tonight before I stopped myself. Maybe next week... lol.

Yeah, we should get a group together. It'll give me a reason to dig something out of the garage.

Boy I can't wait to dig in to all the things I have bought in the past few years. I actually haven't built anything really new in years. I looked at my flickr and some of my models are almost 7 years old! Has that much time really went by? Yike...

I do live in the Atlanta area Jonathan, I happen to work with 2 of the members of NGLTC as well. And yes, the lug groups are kinda sparse around here. Wish there was more to get into in that aspect but hard to find people for it. Outside of my co-workers I dont know many huge fans in the area, but as we all work for TLG we kinda have bricks in the blood so to speak hehe.

I too have been dissapointed by the amount of LEGO activity in the area. I live 1-3 hours northeast of Atlanta(depends on traffic).I do go to Brickfair each year, and it seems like NgltC had a pretty big display for themselves. Unfortunatly they meet too far away for me to go.
