Legionaries Ready!

Postby ACPin » Fri Feb 03, 2012 11:42 am

During the height of the Roman empire, it was a common sight to behold the Legionaries led by the commanding Centurion depart for new campaigns after visiting the temples.

Megablocks ! Your temple is wonderful. When i saw the photos of the lions some days ago, i wondered if we could see the temple in the future, and I m really not disappointed by what i see. That's really a fine work.

Thats a really cool moc, ACPin. The roofing technique to get the great texture is well acheived. Overall the temple looks very authentic, once again, nice job!
You would rather be building right now.

Very nice indeed. I love all of the detailing. When the legions head off to war do the battle droids take over the republic?

This is all kinds of cool. A good balance of detailing. Sometimes there can be too much.

The lions were kind of a teaser to this MOC as the structure was being built.

I've used reference pics from the web for various Roman temples to try to get a realistic feel. Believe it or not, the roofing technique was by accident as I only had enough 3x3 rounded end dark red plates. Pleasantly surprised with the roof effect after I took the initial pics.

The front legs of the lions were modified as well as the claws.

Not these ones as they've become fodder for building Roman structures!

Agreed, too much can detract from the work.

This is a great MOC. I cannot imagine a better one for roman legionars.

Thanks, I'm sure that more Roman MOCs would be forthcoming as these minifigs become more readily available. :D
