I don't know, maybe so that people will not be as spread out. Other factions might be added later, when more members join.

As I mentioned before (in the pretty dead ideas thread), there's more than one way to solve the cluttered, filled to the brim with mocs map. Leave area white as wobnam suggests. At the edges of the map (Terra Incognito), or somewhere within like that black area, or the white spots on my map. Or make a zoomable map. Holland is a small speck on the globe, but when you zoom in you'll find plenty of cities.

When drawing a Terra Incognito, think about wether it should be accessible from the old, known world by ship alone, or by land. These choices can be undone later only with difficulties, so let us take care.

But... does the "3 factions"-rule mean that the "rebel" faction and its island is cancelled?
There are actually 4, he just forgot to include the last one (blame wobnam ;) ) They're still in, but we've decided to merge the "Gold" faction (fright knights, shadow knights) with the rebel faction.
They need swampland and a remote island still :)

I like these rules. But why reduce factions to 3? A 4 faction, the yellow faction. But ok with me. It can come more when the project proceeds.

Ah right, i was thinking leaving the rebels/lawless out would be unthinkable! :halo:

Oops :o

Updated map draft rules:

- 4 factions:
- - Blue: Snow/Mountains
- - Green: Forests/Foothills
- - Red: Grasslands/Desert
- - Gold: Outlaws/rebels. For this faction we need an island and a swampy valley/canyon.
- All factions should share a land border with at least one of the others.
- All factions should have access to the sea.
- Deadline: End of Saturday.

Also keep in mind that the map chosen will have to be tweaked later to completely fit with all the other details. The map should be finalized made after the lore.

Thanks for the update Wobnam. Good I'm busy keeping up here, chatting to two other people, and listening to music, or I'd already have made a new map based on the guidelines you posted before :D

 so as a general query i take it there will be capital cities/castles for each territory and then county capitals within the region as well? Well i think its an idea anyway
