Hey,
Another announcement that came out while we were down for a couple of days. This set has been leaked before (it was actually a 'legal leak', in that a European toy seller posted it early to their website and many AFOLs took note), so many have seen in, but the new Cafe Corner standard set is pretty amazing: 10224 Town Hall
Man, I wish I had the money to follow all of these great lines LEGO is releasing in recent years.
Of direct relevance to Castlers, there is a shield with a new coat of arms. As with the shield included in the microscale Tower Bridge set, this could be the basis for a very expensive faction.

this setline is nice, they are a bit too nice and that goes for the price too . Whoa the detail of the set and all the rooms in the townhall, just great. Too bad this is one of those I can't afford.

As with all the modular buildings, this is very well designed and has great parts. I haven't biught any of these sets due to high prices, and that's not likely to change.

Looks good, as always. The elevator seems like a nice feature. I hope its height doesn't make it not quite fit with the others.

I wondered the same thing when I first saw the pictures of it next to the pet shop. The pet shop is one of the shorter buildings though and I think if you put the town hall next to the green grocer, it might look ok. The green grocer's walls are roughly 6 bricks higher than the pet shop so it will still be taller I think, but might not look as bad as the picture they show.Athos wrote:I hope its height doesn't make it not quite fit with the others.

I don't see the problem with the height. Real buildings have different heights and are built next to smaller and taller buildings.
This modular is actually the first one that is properly tempting me to dip my toe into the (potentially expensive) modular sea. I think it's the combination of the impressive size, new colour and array of features that the other recent modulars have lacked (I missed the grand emporium and original cafe corner). But if I got this, then I'd probably have to get the fire bridage to go next to it... and so on and so on... (and I can get a whole load of LOTR/superhero sets for $170...).
