I'm such a hero
Re: LCC Guild Hall - Information and Submission Thread
I think the guilds are a great addition to LCC and it will be exciting and fun. The mason guild seems hardest to master, so I'll leave that to a later moment. It would be best to begin on challenges that can be small and that I like less. These could teach me a lot. Then I will have quite some experience when starting on the though, big ones, or those I feel are a personal issue that I can't afford to do less than perfect. I'm looking forward to the guilds and challenges already!

Re: LCC Guild Hall - Information and Submission Thread
I have not made up my mind yet. The advice of some people to wait with a final choice until the moment is really there, seems wise to me. Therefore, I'll wait choosing a faction until the lore/background story is chosen. After that choice I will pick my personal figure. And only after that I will make my final decision about which guild I'll first sign up for. All these things will have to fit into each other, and I won't allow myself to mix it up in a mess.

Yes! And thank you.mencot wrote: Hey eilonwy I hope that your getting excited to join LCC because I really love your creations, they are so beutiful.
And did I mention I love magic? Oh wait, I think I did. But the magic people can be hiding out anywhere, right?, so I can totally be in the desert-lands and use all my desert colors which have just been begging to get used. Luscious gardens growing in palaces sheltered from the desert... And magical summoning areas... and pretty fountains...
It could be fun. And it might give me more motivation to stop fiddling and make something substantial. We'll see.

Re: LCC Guild Hall - Information and Submission Thread
This sounds like fun! Was there any thought to a guild that leans towards the bandits/thieves? Perhaps a Guild of Ill will? I was thinking of using a Bear Claw Clan figure as my identity, but I am not sure which of the guilds (and certainly not all of them) he would fit into. If not I will use this opportunity to stretch my imagination's legs a bit, but I was just wondering.

What about microcastlesAK_Brickster wrote: I understand that every person's collection is different and has it's own limitations.
That said, you are going to have an awfully tough time building some of the later tasks (such as the cathedral) without many bricks, and the Mason's guild is overall probably the most parts-intensive guild among the 4.

Re: LCC Guild Hall - Information and Submission Thread
I hadn't really considered microscale, but I think that it will most likely be disallowed. I know that building in microscale presents its own unique challenges, but it wasn't really what I had in mind when I came up with these challenges. Building a curved surface gets a lot easier when you can just stack a bunch of 2x2 round bricks and call it a "turret".
Obviously, the Outlaws will probably have the trickiest time "fitting in" to some of these, but they also are the easiest fit for the Mages guild, since it seems like magic is generally disliked within the other 3 factions. Also, I think if you can figure out a way to break away from convention, you could easily figure out ways to make "A hero among thieves" or "a trader who deals in the black market" or something like that
We're going to stick with these 4 for now, and maybe add another few as people start to finish them up. The only thing about something tailored to one faction or another is that the guilds transcend faction boundaries, so they should apply to everyone.shmails wrote:This sounds like fun! Re: LCC Guild Hall - Information and Submission Thread
I see your point, but if you set limitations on what you could "call" micro scale and a set size and forbid such things as stacked studs, saying they arn't good enough to get in to the guild.
But this would be lots of work so meh.

A Den of thieves (i know I have played to many fantasy games ) sometime would be cool, where all kinds of scum could meet and have missions.

Re: LCC Guild Hall - Information and Submission Thread
These guilds just made the project 10x better. The Mages guild looks especially fun.

That sounds really cool, but it might be hard to add one more guild right now. but we'll see.shmails wrote:This sounds like fun! Re: LCC Guild Hall - Information and Submission Thread
Perhaps it makes a world of sense to not introduce a bad guy guild yet, as the rest of the world is much more organized. Down the road though, it would be cool to be a master thief or something?
