What the ruler of Garheim (or the other factions) should be called hasn't been decided yet, but I doubt it will be king as this would be a bit confusing. Nor has it been decided what this rules looks like and who (if any) will control him - so for now, at least, I recommend keeping these characters out of your creations and focusing on your own character.

This is just a suggestion, but I think the in-game leader of a province could be the PO's character? That way, it would sort of be connected to who actually runs the faction. If there is to be any such thing, that system (and possibly the liaisons' characters, too) could give a minifigure cast to take part in royal councils, meetings and decision. On top of that, I think different in-game titles should be used for each province's leader and liaison, to mirror the different cultures.

First of all, Garheim is not a kingdom, but a province. The King rules all of Roawia and does not belong in any of the factions. So, to answer the other part of your question: Can a Garheim character be red? I think that in the end, this is up to you - but consider this: If you are a high-ranking person in a faction whose color is blue, would you wear red, the color of your enemy?

Well actaully yes. Scarlet and red have long been the regal colours of many nations that have affiliations with different colours so the answer is yes. Red/Scarlet/Purple is a nobles colour.

And Provinces can have kings as well. Ireland was divided into six provinces with a king in each province for centuries and then a high king over them all. Ard Rí na hÉireann

Didn't really consider that, but it's a good point... maybe this decision will have to be postponed until the FOs have been elected, or the system will have to be different.

Well, just for the sake of clarity, AV, it might be best to call your leader a "Baron" or something like that so that other people don't get confused.

As for the FO's character being the faction leader, I think it would actually be better if we just invent a separate character to be the leader.

This would have at least two advantages:
1) The FO could then have his own character to play the game as he wants, without being tied to the "leadership" line of character development.
2) The lead character could be transferable to another person more easily. For example, if the FO resigns or something like that.

I wonder if it's getting a bit ahead of the game to decide on a character now, since the lore contest isn't done yet? My point here is that it seems like there is a lot of confusion as to what characters can be. A lot of people seem to want to have armies, so they're going to have to have someone in charge of them. Maybe at the beginning these could just be like the local lords with their men from their estates? And they would all come to assist the leader of the faction at need? I was wondering what the characters could be. I know there is a ranking for points, and eventually you can reach "noble", but does that mean your character actually has to start as a peasant, or can you start as a nobleman with a bunch of men under your command, even if your game status is peasant?

Yes, I think it makes sense to wait for the lore contest before deciding on your character (and faction). This is why we're waiting to open signup until after the lore is done. People are excited, though

The honorary titles are not related to your in-world character. In other words, your character can be whatever you want, no matter what your current honorary title is.

Yeah, mages are scattered throughout the land, but I think the kingdom is kind of anti-magic, except for the Outlaws. So join the Outlaws! (hint, hint.

Yes, the other three factions are anti-magic for some reason not yet decided (should be covered in lore). If you want to build magic, you should join the Outlaws.

Or... *grins mischievously*.... you could always be a member of one of the other 3 factions who is loyal to the King, but practice magic secretly in a hidden room of your home/castle/hovel/hideout
