I have the armada flagship, and in lego chess the Admiral is with spanish troops. But, I`m not sure if I want to use them with it. If I take them off the ship what do I do with them?

They make fairly good upper-crust medieval types - you'll want to swap out the morion helmet but their torso print works. You can always sell them for $3-$4 each if you are patient and have no other use for them.

Good idea TwoTonic Knight yet I want them to have something to do with pirates.

Then the usual Conquistador things. Usually involving stealing gold, transporting gold, enslaving someone to do the actual work of getting the gold and transporting the gold, manning a fort to protect the gold from vile pirates that would try and steal the gold that the Conquistadors stole fair and square first...

I'd go with what Two-Tonic said, but I used mine as city guards. If you have a city, that is.
