Cuusoo project- Black Falcons Fortress

Postby Knight Man » Thu Mar 15, 2012 4:40 pm

I'm working on a Black Falcons castle over at Cuusoo. I would like suggestions on what kind of designs to put on the castle, what torso you like best, and what you think of the idea. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/11421

great idea ofcourse this is something us Lego Castle fans would love, but it can be hard to get it through. Hopefuly it will work, I will look it better through and support when i am on my computer not on my mobile.
You should change the fortress, to something else, Castle or fort because we already have BF fortress and its re release and it is a legend. Are you going to build some, how it will look yourself or on LDD?

Before I published it the name was Black Falcons Castle but that didn't have the ring to it like Black Falcons Fortress. I would consider Fort but it sounds like it should have brown in the color scheme. You mean am I building it or just designing it? I don't have the pieces to make it and theirs some pieces in new colors so that wouldn't work so it'll be on LDD.

It is going to be confusing if you Call it Black Falcons Fortress. That would be like if I were writing a book and calling it The Lord of the Rings. I think the most important thing to do is have a unique identity and design philosophy.

This is what I think too and I ment some designing and ideas, because i think that if this project would go through on cuusoo and TLG would consider it, they would design it. But to get support and build up the eager and entusiasm, you would have some cool images and ideas for it :D and you have. I support this.

This is a nice idea and I'd love for TLG to bring out some Black Falcon exclusives like a large castle, or battle pack.

However I think you need to credit the torso designs to the appropriate people (I recognise them from this post http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=61489), have you asked their permission to post them on cuusoo? 'Finding something on the internet' is not like finding something in the street, it can and should be credited.

Other than that I think its a fun idea, but just make sure you credit the designs to avoid offending or angering the original designers!

I was trying to find the Eurobricks link from where I copied the picture from but I couldn't find it. Now that I have the link I would like to ask his permission but I don't have a Eurobricks account and I'm not old enough to make one. I'll try to see where I dug the second from the last picture from but the picture was used as a reference that I was thinking of a torso armor like the Lion one but with a BF emblem in the middle. Thanks for giving me the link I'll credit him with the pictures on Cuusoo.

Just a quick comment, I think your set idea probably has too many figs. I might be wrong, but 15 figs seems like a LOT for any 1 set, especially in recent memory. Not that I don't like the idea, but it doesn't seem like something that TLG would do.

Yeah, but that's at a MUCH higher piece count and price point than what he's going for. I'd think 10 would be about max. MMV had 8 and Joust had 9 if memory serves me correctly.

Looking at the LOTR sets, realised the Helm's Deep set has 14 figs, AND two horses. Think that's hitting about the 120/150 price point I vaguely remember. So it's not unheard of.

EDIT: Scratch that. TLG have cunningly put two sets seemlessly together in the same promotional picture, so Helms Deep is actually 8. Drat. And I thought I was onto a winner there!

Well the most figs on a castle set was 375 and its re-release in 1981 under 6075 had 14 minifigs but I'm sure Lego doesn't like doing that anymore :( .
